Description

The Black Crackle lighter is the product that made Zippo Manufacturing Company what it is today- an American icon recognized throughout the world. From 1933 until 1942, Zippo lighter cases were manufactured from brass and chrome. During WWII, all brass material was supplied to the military effort and was not available for domestic use. Zippo produced a steel case lighter and inside unit. Because the drawn steel cases had an uneven, unsightly finish, they were coated with a thick black material that baked to a crackled finish. Today, we apply a Black Wrinkle finish using a specially formulated powder coating process. Each lighter has a bottom stamp signifying the year it was made, is refillable, and is backed by Zippo's famous lifetime guarantee. All windproof lighters are American made in our Bradford, PA factory and come packaged in a gift box.

The media could not be loaded. overall great lighter. it’s a good size and isn’t too big or bulky. it holds a LOT of fuel in the cotton/rayon compared to some other older zippos i have. these zippos will evaporate fluid if you leave it sitting for too long, but they don’t leak the fluid. the fluid just slowly dissipates within ~2 weeks without using it. (this is for those that think their lighter is broken) MAKE SURE YOU BUY ZIPPO OR RONSONOL FUEL! these do not come pre-filled for shipping safety. you can get lighter fluid at gas stations or hardware stores if you don’t want to wait for shipping, but i would recommend zippo brand fuel because it seems to have less odor from my experience. take the lighter insert out and lift up the little pad on the bottom and fill it till it starts to drip out of the wick, then let it sit for a couple minutes to fully wick and you’re good to go. do not buy these lighters expecting them to be full of fuel. the cotton/rayon is very tightly packed on these for some reason, but it’s a very easy fix. if you have this issue, just pull the rayon and wick out and pack it again but take out a few bits of rayon for extra space. from my experience it seems like it keeps a stronger flame this way and you waste less fuel. It’s great just like every other zippo lighter i’ve had in the past. Hope this review helps! :D ... show more
