I could not re-use the original metal and plastic part without finding a replacement rubber washer to seal the fill valve connection. It seemed easier just to buy this. By the way, I don't agree that the original design was bad. With just a little care you can avoid cross threading. Also, the threads don't have to seal. What's important is that the washer makes good contact with both the base of the filler valve fitting and the inside inside stem of the adapter. ... show more

    • Revised Toto Washlet T-connector vastly superior to old version

The original T-connector was a combination of metal and plastic. This worked fine for an initial installation of our C200 Washlet. Unfortunately, the connector is "one time use only." After disconnecting to replace the toilet float valve, the valve leaked profusely upon tightening. I believe this was due to the metal-on-plastic design and inevitable cross-threading. The new all-plastic T-connector is far superior. No cross-threading issues and the inside is redesigned for better seating/compression. No leaks now! Yes, this official Toto connector is very expensive for what it is ($0.05 piece of plastic). But I had few, if any, alternative options. And it does work as intended. ... show more

The side fitting is 3/4" (common size for washlets sold in the Japan market). Works well and plumbing tape not needed, but price is too high.

    • Fixed my leak
Had the old version of the valve as I bought and installed the Toto washlet in 2019. On Saturday I "deep cleaned" it, basically take it off, turn it upside down and go to town sanitizing and cleaning. When I was done, I had twisted the water line too much it seems and there was a small leak dripping out of the top connection to the tank. Received this part, replaced the old toto t-valve within a few minutes, it all hooked together fine and there are no leaks. Having only one toilet, it's pretty important that it works so I'm very happy with this replacement to say the least. ... show more
