I purchased this as a foundation to my (Zinus Memory Foam 12 Inch Green Tea Mattress, Queen) which i bought here on Amazon at the same time. My thought was having both a Zinus brand foundation and mattress they would pair up well. In short, they don't. The overall quality is fine however, I have found to 2 negative things to say about this combo: 1. The Zinus mattress i purchased overhangs from this foundation by about an inch on both sides. Not a deal-breaker for me but just seems a little odd that the foundation isn't as wide as the mattress. I'm not sure if the foundation is smaller than normal or if my mattress is wider than normal but regardless, they aren't the same width despite being the same brand and bed size. 2. My mattress slides around on this foundation. Yes, it literally does not stay in place. So I am constantly having to push it from side to side to keep my mattress centered. Yesterday, i purchased one of those anti-slip rug mats that are designed to keep an area rug from moving on a hard surface in hopes that will keep my mattress from moving around on my foundation. Overall: The quality is good, it was easy to assemble and it looks nice. Other than the aforementioned I would recommend especially for the price point. ... show more

Absolutely garbage! The wife and I just bought a new Casper mattress and were in need of a foundation for it. Upon shopping around we came across this Zinus platform and compared it to the Casper foundation. Based on the pictures and description that Zinus and Casper provided we really couldn't tell much difference between the two and for $200 cheaper we figured we would give it a try. It also came with a 5 year warranty so I figured that they had a decent product since they had a decent warranty. Boy what a giant mistake that was! After a couple of weeks of use we wound up waking up in the middle of the bed as it sagged so much. (We are average sized people, about 325 lbs. combined weight). It sagged in every direction, sideways and lengthwise. Standing back and looking at the mattress you could see the dip in the middle. Not only did it sag, but because the support beams were all bent there was a space between the beams and the slats and the slats acted as springs and the bed was all bouncy. I took the mattress off and took some measurements and put a straight edge on all the pieces to confirm. Every measurement showed a dip of about 1 inch in the middle, and this is with zero weight on, I can only imagine how far of a dip there was when we were laying on the bed. The photos show measurements of how much of a dip there is in the middle of the frames and support beam. Also there is a couple of photos which show a side by side comparison between the Zinus and the Casper. (I bought a Casper after realizing how big a piece of junk this foundation was.) When the Casper arrived I immediately noticed how heavy it was. Looking at the description on Amazon you can see the Casper is 89 lbs. and the Zinus is 58 lbs. That right there should tell you something. Then when I opened the box I could immediately tell the difference, these two bed foundations had nothing in common as the Casper is far more robust (see pics) The Casper frame itself is about twice as thick as the Zinus. The wood slats on the Casper are 3/4" thick vs. the Zinus slats which are only 1/2" thick, and the Casper has 2 center support beams (which are twice as thick, which really equals about 4 times the support) vs. the Zinus single support beam. I called Zinus directly about the problem and they said that they could do an exchange under warranty, but would not honor their 100 day satisfaction guarantee and let me return it since I did not purchase it directly from them. I did not want an exchange as I knew the next one would be just as big a piece of junk. So I contacted Amazon and like usual they issued a return slip and honored the return with no questions asked. Hey Zinus, unlike you, at least someone honors your guarantee. Bottom Line. You get what you pay for I guess. Got the Casper and what a night and day difference. it just sucks because it is never fun having to return such big and bulky items. Thank you Amazon for standing behind what you sell and always taking care of the customer, however maybe you should reconsider selling this product. ... show more
