If you're a fan of industrial looking furniture or have a modern aesthetic, I completely suggest purchasing a Zinus bed frame. This is the second frame I have purchased from the brand. They're stupid easy to assemble, seriously, if you understand pictures and steps, you're golden. I will suggest having two people on this, it can easily be a one-person job, BUT, some of the pieces are heavy and assembling the main body of the frame is much easier with two people. I was a little shocked to realize that there are no feet supporting the sides of the frame, there is only a foot in the center for the crossbeam. The head and foot of the frame are a single beam that runs the entire width of the bed. That being said, the side bars are inch+ thick beams of metal. I weigh about 300 lbs and haven't bent the frame yet (and I sit on the side of the bed to put my shoes on, etc.) This sucker is sturdy. I personally like to hang my feet off the bed so I opted not to have the footboard. I was amazed that the frame still came with a nice little detail if you opt out of the footboard. There is a little strip of wood that runs along the foot of the bed, at this price, they didn't need to include this detail, but I'm so glad they did. The panel on the headboard is solid wood too (or if it's particle board with a veneer, it's a damn good one) I know the wood on the foot is solid, mine got nicked somehow in shipping and it's a solid little slice, not a jagged mess like you see with dented particle board. I will say that the slats are relatively thin and are likely bamboo or another cheap wood like pine. However, with the well supported crossbar, I don't expect to break any slats anytime soon (and if I do, I'll just run to the hardware store and buy sturdier wood for slats) For this price, you cannot pass up this value. You'll have it built in less than an hour and it's a showroom worthy piece. It's an industrial piece so it'll never go out of style and will fit with many types of decor. It's black metal with dark brown stained wood. I doubt you'll be able to find a color that won't pair well with this frame. If I have one complaint, it's that the frame itself is short, I'm a relatively tall guy, and even with a 13" mattress on it it's not 2 foot off the ground (it's just under my knees) that being said, once you're laying on it the height doesn't matter, but I would suggest using a larger mattress with this platform.

I do not usually write reviews, but I thought I needed to for this item. I am 6'7" and 300 lbs...I am a big lumberjack type of a guy. I could barely carry this box by myself, that is how heavy it is, which is a GOOD THING. A friend has the version without the headboard and recommended this to us. We wanted something SUPER sturdy, but low to the ground (we have a 16-month-old son that likes to crawl in and out of the bed) and something without sharp edges etc. Very well made, took about 35 minutes to assempble. For people that have issues with the holes and assembly, remember that long pieces put tension on the bolts, so you want to brace an end on something while you put in all the bolts, but do not tighten everything all the way until you have it all together, then go around and tighten them all down. This allows you to have some flex for the pieces to line up and to make sure everything is ratcheted down in case anything moves during assembly. The ratcheting wrench that comes with it is GENIUS. They include spare parts which is great. The wood slats velcro down (CLEVER). We LOVE this frame. I am a very big guy and it is super sturdy for me. VERY good value!

This has been a great bed for us for about 1.5 years now. We use it with a Purple king mattress and no box spring. The construction was better than I anticipated and makes for a very sturdy bed with no creaks (*wink,wink*). Assembly was pretty straightforward. It's all Allen bolts like most furniture, but a handy ratcheting Allen was included which lessened the thumb pain significantly and sped the process up. I like this little ratchet tool so much I keep it in my toolbox now. The frame joints also usually was designed with features that slotted into the side rails, so aligning the pieces was easy and the joints are very strong. The wood headboard was nicer looking wood than I had anticipated from the pictures. Slats are linked with fabric so they roll out like one piece (like Ikea's) and velcro into place (no movement or squeaks). The bed is very low. There is no room for storage underneath and it can take a little getting used to when transitioning from a big sleigh bed with box springs like we were (feels kinda like camping!). You get used to it though and it takes up so much less room. The bed is barely bigger than the mattress which I find really nice, especially for a small or open room. Obviously, I have been very pleased with this purchase. When you factor in the cost, it is an exceptional value.

I liked the quick, free delivery in 3 days. Upon delivery the boxes were in good shape, none of the pieces in the box were broken. It would have been a super quick 30 minute set up but when we got to attaching the headboard on, there was one nut that was stripped. We are DIYers and hubby is very handy so we didn't want to return the bed after it was 95% set up so he came up with a fix that involved glue and making another hole in the metal. It worked great but this would not be the case for most ppl, so the company needs to get it together as far as quality control. Other than that, the bed is nice, very sturdy, and for a king-size bed, the price is awesome. I am 5'5" and when I wake up I am comfortably sitting on the bed with my feet on the ground. I'm not bothered by the low profile bc we purposely looked for a low bed although a few inches taller, maybe 3 inches, would have been absolutely perfect. And the best part was that I found a set of night tables (from a large dept store) that were a perfect match in color, design, and height; Corinna Angle Leg Side Table Wood - Threshold.

I never write reviews, but I do read them before I buy anything. I read the reviews for this frame and felt they were kind of scattered in terms of the problems people were having. Not being a picky person and liking the look of the frame I wasn't going to mind any little dents or chips. My package arrived 3 days early. I was pretty sure I ordered the frame with the foot board (because the one without, the one I actually wanted, said it would take 3-4 months to ship). I received the frame without :) so it was a pleasant mistake for me. I inspected the metal and the wood pieces and all of it surpassed my quality check. Got to getting out the hardware and found a micro ratchet was included, I've put a lot of furniture together and I have never seen something like that included especially when you're usually lucky to get the wrench that you need at all, thought it was pretty cool and incredibly handy. It still came with the hex, I didn't even pull it out of the package. The instructions are IDIOT PROOF. Every connection is numbered, screw #1 to #1, #2 to #2, etc. 14 steps, half of which are just doing the other side same as the last. I put this thing together in less than 30 minutes. The metal feels very sturdy at the joints as well as throughout and the wood slats are, in my opinion very good quality. ZERO hiccups, the numbered stickers come off super easy which is a big deal to me, I hate cleaning off adhesive. Just being me, I went through and tightened the bolts that were already in the pieces of the frame just in case. Overall, I don't see this thing crapping out on me any time soon. I will update this review if it goes south though. Edit: Almost 2 years later still a great frame. It’s been moved and taken apart and put back together a couple of times and it’s just as easy to put together and sturdy as ever. 100/10 would recommend. Great price for a great product. *Edit 7 Year update!* Still have it, still love it. No problems or signs of crapping out. Fantastic bed frame.

It took a while for me to begin assemblins the bed mostly due to the dread from past experiences with other self assembly products. The instructions needed improvement. The parts in the box were labelled with numbers, while the instruction included in the box had letters. Same with the online instructions that I was able to find. I thought that A=1, B=2, etc. would work, but it didn't. I was able to figure out assembly fairly quickly just with common sense though. One small part was missing, which I always expect. The bed assembled fine without it. It took about 2 weeks, but Zinus sent the missing part. But, I have no regrets on purchasing the bed. It is WONDERFUL. It is extremely stable, stays in place with no creaking or sagging. The slats that cover the length of the frame provide a tremendous amount of support. I sleep alot better on it without the mattress sagging like my old, cheap frame. My persistent lower back pain has diminished significantly. I'm waiting for a sale so I can start replacing the bed frames in my other bedrooms with this one. It's also VERY NICE in appearance.

This is a nice bedframe that looks great and feels sturdy, but I'm writing this review because of how easy it was to assemble. The included instructions were great, but the parts and hardware were all labeled so sensibly that I barely even looked at the directions once I got started. I kept all the bolts loose until everything was in place, and the whole thing squared up almost perfectly with only minimal nudging. They even included a small ratcheting hex driver in addition to the standard Allen key you usually get with this kind of furniture; a small but much appreciated inclusion that made the process go even more smoothly. The included slats are wrapped at the ends with hook-and-loop tape that mates up with matching strips on the inside of the frame, so they won't slide around once they're in place. As a bonus of the slats being bound together in this way, they're already evenly spaced so you don't have to worry about arranging them manually. In total, I probably spent a total of 45 minutes putting this together at a leisurely pace. I never once got frustrated and needed to walk away for a few minutes. Of all the flat-pack furniture I've ever assembled, this one was the easiest by far.

This frame was actually a lot easier to setup than I thought it was going to be, only real issue was lugging it around to my apartment. I do recommend however having some electric screwdriver/drill with swappable allen wrench heads, otherwise this would have been annoying to. I bought this specifically because I wanted to get a frame that was low to the ground since the mattress that I had planned for this one was thicker at 14 inches, but I also wanted to get something that had a bit more quality on the frame from what I had before which had more novelty features that I didn't end up liking as much as I thought it would. The wood frame is a nice touch that feels sturdy, and the frame around it feels sturdy enough where I believe it'll last a lot longer than what I had before. The lack of screws as well is a plus around more critical areas as the last frame I had mostly had issues due to screws coming out as it aged. I'm at 260 and the mattress I have is around 120 ish pounds and it holds me just fine. I think you may have issues though with more weight if you want this for 2 people. It's also easy enough to move around with my heavy bed, while I'm also in a carpet apartment. If you have wood/tile though, the frame may scratch up the flooring. I can't speak much to sleeping on it yet, so we'll see over time, but I also didn't buy this with the intention of lasting decades.
