Beautiful, sturdy bedframe.

If you're a fan of industrial looking furniture or have a modern aesthetic, I completely suggest purchasing a Zinus bed frame. This is the second frame I have purchased from the brand. They're stupid easy to assemble, seriously, if you understand pictures and steps, you're golden. I will suggest having two people on this, it can easily be a one-person job, BUT, some of the pieces are heavy and assembling the main body of the frame is much easier with two people. I was a little shocked to realize that there are no feet supporting the sides of the frame, there is only a foot in the center for the crossbeam. The head and foot of the frame are a single beam that runs the entire width of the bed. That being said, the side bars are inch+ thick beams of metal. I weigh about 300 lbs and haven't bent the frame yet (and I sit on the side of the bed to put my shoes on, etc.) This sucker is sturdy. I personally like to hang my feet off the bed so I opted not to have the footboard. I was amazed that the frame still came with a nice little detail if you opt out of the footboard. There is a little strip of wood that runs along the foot of the bed, at this price, they didn't need to include this detail, but I'm so glad they did. The panel on the headboard is solid wood too (or if it's particle board with a veneer, it's a damn good one) I know the wood on the foot is solid, mine got nicked somehow in shipping and it's a solid little slice, not a jagged mess like you see with dented particle board. I will say that the slats are relatively thin and are likely bamboo or another cheap wood like pine. However, with the well supported crossbar, I don't expect to break any slats anytime soon (and if I do, I'll just run to the hardware store and buy sturdier wood for slats) For this price, you cannot pass up this value. You'll have it built in less than an hour and it's a showroom worthy piece. It's an industrial piece so it'll never go out of style and will fit with many types of decor. It's black metal with dark brown stained wood. I doubt you'll be able to find a color that won't pair well with this frame. If I have one complaint, it's that the frame itself is short, I'm a relatively tall guy, and even with a 13" mattress on it it's not 2 foot off the ground (it's just under my knees) that being said, once you're laying on it the height doesn't matter, but I would suggest using a larger mattress with this platform. ... show more

What an amazingly simple to assemble and stylish bed!

I have to admit that I never thought I would be someone who would one day be writing a review for a bed, but I couldn't be more excited about this purchase so lets do it! I ordered a full size Zinus Ironline Metal and Wood Platform Bed without the footboard. I had just redone the floors in my guest bedroom and I wanted a nice sturdy bed that wouldn't move around and scratch the floor to replace my crap wireframe bed from my college days. This came in the mail in a large rectangular box with all of the pieces, instructions and screws. The set had a very helpful little ratchet tool that made putting the bed together even easier and faster. Each part has a labeled number that corresponds with the part that you attach it to. In total I put this bed together in under 25 minutes! The non-slip features are fantastic, the bed makes no sounds and there is no movement! I even tested it out with very immature thrusting motions... The bed also has a very clean and modern look. I placed my mattress and foam mattress topper on the bed and got rid of my old box spring, the mattress goes right to the edge of the headboard. You definitely could use a box spring with the bed, I just chose not to. PROS: Easy to put together in under 25 minutes. Extra screws if you lose one. Great Packaging. Great Price. No smell. CONS: Makes me want to buy more of these and get rid of my other beds. I don't think you can beat the quality and price of this bed. Surprisingly sturdy and well-made product with clear and simple instructions. The entire construction took less than 30 minutes and I did not run into any issues of misalignment or missing pieces. It looks beautiful, there is very little to any noise or movement when I try to shake it. For construction, the stickers attached to each end of the products to inform you which piece attaches to which and in the correct orientation was intuitive and helpful. The stickers are non-intrusive and well-placed so that you don't have to take them off. Most of the time, stickers are randomly placed around the pieces in big white stickers that are an eye-store and unhelpful. Thankfully this wasn't the case with this product. They provided an adjustable torque allen wrench for construction which was a pleasant surprise and inclusion. Most online furniture give you the bare minimum tools to assemble the product and you end up frustrated and in pain/ That was not the case with this bed frame and I really commend Zinus for going above and beyond for providing it. For anyone wondering, the space between the wooden slats are almost exactly 3 inches apart from each other. This is particularly important for mattress warranties which can sometimes be voided if the base/platform is not fully supportive. 3 inches is normally the exact space allowed by warranties before they will try to say it is not covered or considered adequate support. The Velcro straps on the slats ensures it won't move, your bed will be properly supported if you are worried about any sagging and having your warranty be voided. ... show more

Sturdy, just ok. Reasonable Quality for the price
We bought this platform bed to go with our new Casper mattress. It fits the mattress perfectly and is a very sturdy, solid metal frame. It was easy to put together. Overall a very good deal for the price, I’m sure it will last for years. Our only issue was some minor scratches in the headboard. They were probably created during the shipping and handling process, the scratched were pretty minor. Not worth trying to return the whole thing, and I was able to repair them with a touch up marker and you can’t even see them now. Still, I shouldn’t have to do that with a brand new headboard, so 4 stars. And the Headboard itself is sort of a cheap material. Sort of Ikea like particle board. Its fine for the price, just wish it was a little nicer. The footer is surprisingly a nicer looking piece of wood. I think eventually what I will do is replace the headboard with a solid piece of wood of my own choosing. That way I can pick something to my liking, and stain it as I want. This would be the perfect bedframe for that. You would only have drill 4 holes in the piece of wood. Be prepared, the bed is extremely low to the ground. We like it a lot now that we are used to it, but it did get some taking getting used to. ... show more

This frame was actually a lot easier to setup than I thought it was going to be, only real issue was lugging it around to my apartment. I do recommend however having some electric screwdriver/drill with swappable allen wrench heads, otherwise this would have been annoying to. I bought this specifically because I wanted to get a frame that was low to the ground since the mattress that I had planned for this one was thicker at 14 inches, but I also wanted to get something that had a bit more quality on the frame from what I had before which had more novelty features that I didn't end up liking as much as I thought it would. The wood frame is a nice touch that feels sturdy, and the frame around it feels sturdy enough where I believe it'll last a lot longer than what I had before. The lack of screws as well is a plus around more critical areas as the last frame I had mostly had issues due to screws coming out as it aged. I'm at 260 and the mattress I have is around 120 ish pounds and it holds me just fine. I think you may have issues though with more weight if you want this for 2 people. It's also easy enough to move around with my heavy bed, while I'm also in a carpet apartment. If you have wood/tile though, the frame may scratch up the flooring. I can't speak much to sleeping on it yet, so we'll see over time, but I also didn't buy this with the intention of lasting decades. ... show more

TL,DR: If you’re looking for a cheap but good looking bed this is it, I’d recommend it. Also i uploaded pictures near my bed, because I’m too lazy to clean my room to take photos of the bed. You can look at my pets and see the bed in the photos 😅 Honest review here since I’m just now thinking I want to look at a new bed after 4 years. This was a great cheap bed! It had the look I wanted, it was cheap lol, and it was low profile which I thought would be best since we o may have 8ft ceilings. Pros: It was pretty easy to put together It’s never been loose or made noise No toe hazards Cons: The mattress isn’t locked into place really because there no real footboard. It’s not a huge problem because if it’s shifted 2-5 inches it’s fixed by me pushing it back with my knee when I’m making the bed. Our pillows can slowly slide down below the headboard when the mattress shifts around. Not too big of a deal again. It’s kinda too low profile. Or maybe I’m just getting old at 37 and hate getting out of bed, but I drive a tiny ass MINI copper and that doesn’t bother me sooo… Yeah the only reason I’m looking for a new one now is just to find something a little higher off the ground and maybe with a longer headboard so my pillows down go backwards when my mattress has shifted down. ... show more

I know, the headline is terrible and sounds like the start of an infomercial buuuuuuuut let get back to your regular scheduled programming. Lately I have been feeling a void in my life and I don't know why. I wake up, shower, get ready for work/school and make my morning coffee. I leave home but I leave tired. Exhausted. I take my daily vitamins and also eat well and workout to stay in shape. Something is definitely wrong and I don't know what it is. I pay no attention to it since its just another day on this Earth fighting for survival. I was here, surfing the web on how to take control of my life, succeed in life and conquer life and death. One thing led to another and VOILA. I ended up here on Amazon procrastinating. I don't know why but I knew I wanted to buy something but I couldn't search within myself to find what I wanted to buy. Something snapped in me. Probably my back from falling off my day bed so many time. I realized, I needed a bed. I searched through the amazon, item after item, I finally ended up on this one. This Zinus bed frame. The color, style, design, caught my eye. I had to order it right away! Plus it was $40 off so why not? ordered it and got it 3 days later. Sooner than expected. This is what happiness feels like. The UPS man drops it off. Seeing that I am visibly excited to this box arriving, he asks what it is. "Mind your business bro" I said. just kidding, I didn't say that. I told him what it is. he was excited as well. Leave me alone bro, gotta build this bad boy up. head off, build it within 30 minutes and VOILA, the perfect bed frame. Sturdy, makes no noise, looks great and big enough for me. My back is slowly aching to lay down on this new bed frame. No can do. We have work to do and head off for the rest of the day. Later in the day, I get home, I forget I had a new bed frame and bed. I drop to my knees, sob like a little girl and repeat "Its over, its finally over". I lay down and lost the sense of time. Its like I experienced time dilation. Gravity was stronger as soon as I laid down on bed. My back orgasmed. It has not felt pleasure and comfort in such a long time. No more squeaky sounds, no more falling off the bed and more importantly, sturdy bed frame. Makes no noise. 10/10 would buy again. ... show more

I do not say this lightly: This was THE most pleasant, convenient, straightforward, and enjoyable furniture assembly process I have ever gone through in my entire life. The instructions are so simple and straightforward, and every single piece is labeled with a number on each end—so 1 connects to 1, 2 to 2, and so on. Once you get how the process goes after the first step or two, you could probably build the whole thing without looking at the instructions again. It comes with only like 2 different size bolts, so you don't have to keep track of a bunch of different size bolts and screws and stuff. And it comes with a ratcheting assembly tool too. And it was very quick too, I think I had the whole thing together just by myself in about 30 minutes or less. As for the quality of the bed frame itself, I literally could not be any more pleased with how well this thing was manufactured. It's literally all metal and wood. Very strong metal. Everything fits together perfectly. It comes with way more wood slats for under the bed than any frame I've seen before, and the slats are supported very well by metal bars. Once I had everything tightened down, it is extremely sturdy. The frame feels extremely stable and sturdy. It is completely SILENT—coming from using squeaky and rocky bed frames my entire life, the first time I sat down and laid down on this thing and it was completely silent and solid, it was almost like a dream. The frame supports my mattress so well that it's actually even more comfortable than before. I totally underestimated how nice this frame would be, and how much of an upgrade from my old frame it would be. And I am extremely glad I decided to go through with it, because I was worried the price wouldn't be worth it, but it absolutely was. So I highly recommend this bed frame, and I'll be keeping an eye on this brand for any other furniture they make in the future. ... show more
