First of all this is my second Zinus bed frame. I bought one a couple years ago and was absolutely so impressed by how well marked and well instructed the assembly information was. This has changed. The previous frame had every hole and every piece marked with a letter or a number. It went together so easy and so fast. This one, however, there was no markings on the pieces at all, only labels on a few of the connections. You have to figure how the pieces come together based on the shape in a very minimal graphic-only instructions. I could go on, but the big issue was that there was one piece at the headboard that should have been indicated that there was a direction to it, as neither the connectors #s, nor the graphics addessed this. This would not have been an issue had they marked it as well as they had the last Zinus bed frame that I purchased. Added about 30 minutes to undo, flip it, and reconnect. Took about 2 hours total to put together, one person. My previous frame went together in about half that because it was so well marked, no pondering about which part goes where. Other than that, I have no complaints on the frame. It's well made, looks sturdy, and really nice. It's a good quality for the price. I just wish I could laud their assembly instructions like I did for my previous bed frame. It was certainly a big part of why I went with a Zinus again this time around. Parts were labeled well and instructions were clear. I'm a handy 50+ female and unpackaged/assembled this in about 45 minutes. Product is well made, everything lined up and it's beautiful. I wasn't sure what size mattress to buy. After setting it up and measuring I went with an 8" mattress. When I add pillows this is the right size mattress for me. Very happy with that decision. I purchased the queen size and assembled it by myself. Super sturdy frame and I really liked how the wood slats were attached to each other and had Velcro on them that secured them to the frame. The slats being 3.4 inches apart heavily influenced my purchase as this is crucial for proper mattress support and longevity as well. Tip ** When assembling don’t tighten the frame machined screws all the way until after you install the legs, this allows you to align the leg screw holes properly. This frame is really sturdy, looks great and is easy to put together. However it is too tall if you plan to use a box spring. If not, it’s great. Weird that it has sticky tape on slats to hold mattress in place? Don’t folks regularly rotate their mattresses? The mattress just sits on top of slats and no edge holds it in place so that tape plus mattress weight is the only thing to keep it from sliding around. ... show more

I'm an elderly woman who was able to drag the box to the bedroom, lay out the parts, and easily assembly solo in under 30 minutes. I've put together a lot of furniture and this is by far the easiest assembly ever - a 7-year-old could figure it out! Total pieces: 4 for frame, 4 for legs, 2 for slats, 1 Allen wrench, and 12 screws. That's it. It's sturdy, noiseless, and attractive. I am very satisfied with this purchase. The instructions were clear and all the pieces were labeled, so it was a breeze to assemble. I love the wooden slats. There is Velcro to keep them in place, and best of all, the bed doesn’t squeak. This bed frame is very sturdy and looks just like the photo. Since it’s a platform bed, it is lower to the ground.
