  • Nice stiff frame when put together.
Size: Queen Style: Kai
This bed frame was exactly what they say. It took my husband about three hours to put it together with no real issues. He said that the inventory and determining which parts are which was a bit challenging as they use letters for each part in the diagram but do not have matching stickers on the parts. He had to compare the number stickers (more on those later) to lay out everything. The one piece that did not show up in the parts list was an Allen Key ratchet (there is also a standard Allen wrench included) that made the job easier. The ratchet is a one time use item as the Allen head was pretty well rounded over by the time he finished tightening everything. Each part had a nice number stickers at each connection point. This made it easy to line up the parts that need to be connected. He recommends doing a pre-threading of the screws before fitting the parts together as some of the threaded holes had some paint in them that made it challenging to get the screws started. Also, when putting multiple pieces together, do not fully tighten the screws until they are all installed. The last step was installing the mattress support rods. He said that a little over half of them slid into the slots with a bit of downward pressure, but he had to use a rubber mallet to get the rest in place. When completed the frame is very stiff so should hold up really well. ... show more

  • Sturdy, silent frame
Size: Queen Style: Leah
This took me three hours to put together by myself. The labeling of parts did not match up to the directions, but I figured it out. The frame is sturdy and does not make any noise. The only thing I had to get used to is that the right front leg of the frame sticks out. So, I have hooked my baby toe on it a few times before I learned my lesson to give my bed more clearance when walking past it. ... show more

  • Zinus Leah Bamboo Bed - So Far, So Good 24 Hours After Building
Size: Queen Style: Leah
I researched the heck out of budget priced platform beds. None of them seemed to have all the features I wanted, which was to be expected I suppose, as the price point I was looking at was quite low. I settled on this Zinus Leah bed and took a chance. The box was heavy and the contents were packaged well. The finish on the wood is consistent with the photos online and is a honey oak color. I was a bit skeptical of the two long side rails because their depth is only about four inches. It turns out each side rail is made of two sections that meet in the middle at the point where the side rail leg attaches. The screw and bolts used seem quite strong and once the side rail was put together it feels quite strong. The directions were quite easy to follow and things went together in about 45 minutes. The bed actually seems quite strong. It's light and easy to move around without a mattress, but it feels solid. The slats attach with Velcro and will hold in place well as a result. I do wish there were at least two more slats as the spacing between them might be a bit wide for my hybrid mattress, but time will tell. I do intend to drill and screw each slat into it's supporting side rail but that's a project for another day and until that day arrives the Velcro will have to do. The center support rail that supports the slats mid-span is made of metal (aluminum?) and painted black. It seems to secure nicely at each end of the bed and at the side rails with solid screw locking into embedded nuts in the wood. Others have reported that this center rail has moved and otherwise fallen out of position, resulting in unsupported and broken slats, but based upon how our went together I do not see how this can possibly happen. Time will be the judge of this, too, but on installation all looks solid to me. It *may* be of value to counter sink a few screw (self tapping for the metal rail) through a few slats and into the metal rail to further support the rail and keep it from shifting. Perhaps I will consider this whenever I take the mattress of to screw the slats into the side rail. Other reviewers have commented that the center support rail legs are too short to reach the floor, but in our case they are the proper length. I do wish the headboard was about 6 inches taller because with a 12" mattress the headboard looks a bit skimpy, but that's an aesthetic thing I suppose and I am not going to lay awake at night worrying about it. The only other thing I will say about the headboard is that the three horizontal rails that run from side to side are a bit "skimpy". I won't be grabbing the headboard to help shift in bed or to get in our out of bed because I don't think it's that strong. In fact, if it were six inches taller (like I wished it was) it would even be a bit more "skimpy". I was very skeptical of this bed when I ordered it as the $139.00 price point seems to cry out for a poor product, but honestly the bed seems solid. All in all - at the 24 hour mark - I am happy with the bed. ... show more

  • Easy to Assemble and Enjoy
Size: Twin Style: Leah
This bed frame is great! You are getting high value for such as reasonable price. I spent a while comparing different bed frames, but this one stood out for many reasons. It looks beautiful once assembled and it even has enough space under the bed to add storage containers. Compared to other beds that I have assembled, the assembly was even easier. You can build it with just one person in an hour or less. It feels very sturdy from the short term I have used this bed. I would recommend this bed if you want a beautiful, functional bed frame with under-the-bed storage capacity. I highly recommend for a first time apartment. It works great! ... show more

  • Sturdy, great assembly markings and directions, and attractive
Size: Queen Style: Kai
Great look for my minimalist, bamboo and summer themed bedroom. The assembly instructions are great! Kudos to whomever figured them out. Match the numbered pieces in the order given in the instructions, and you're good to go. I have a Tuft and Needle foam-type mattress that must be on rails to breathe. The frame is sturdy, doesn't rattle about (quiet), and as it is lightweight, it is easy to move a bit away from the wall to make the bed. The discs on the metal legs keep from scratching my wood floors. I wrapped cushioning around the metal post in the middle--painful encounter with a toe when I forgot that it was there. Love the frame. ... show more

  • Under bed height - ideal for storage
Size: Queen Style: Leah
I have had this frame for a few months now. Not once have I had to tighten any screws. The frame is really sturdy. No squeaks with movement. The kids jump up and down on it and I have never had any issues with thinking it was going to break. What i love most is the storage underneath. I have my seasonal clothes in storage totes and I can easily slide them under the bed without having to push and shove. The frame is also light weight enough that I can push on it to move it out of the way when I am vacuuming or when I drop the phone charger. ... show more
