The review below was posted for the wrong product by mistake and was originally meant for the mattress I bought, so I'm here to correct it. This bed frame is a great value, well made and good looking, I love it. Original review: I wanted an extra firm mattress but I purposely tried to avoid all mattresses that used memory foam, because I had one before and it was the worst sleeping experience ever - my lower back hurt so much due to the way memory foam slowly sinks in and it did not actually give any support to my body (my BMI is around 22). I was ready to spend over $1,000 for an extra firm mattress without memory foam, but unfortunately all mattresses nowadays on the market at that price point have the evil memory foam. This mattress (I got the 12"), despite not using memory foam (at least according to the product description), still has the slow sinking effect. I'm not sure why maybe because of its so called "high density foam" top layers? I kept waking up with discomfort in my lower back and had to adjust my position throughout the night. And I woke up the next morning with back pain - similar experience I had years ago with my last memory foam mattress. So I was planning to return it, but after reading all the reviews saying that the mattress return policy was terrible and a huge hassle, I was annoyed. Until I saw the anatomy picture in its product description and I was like maybe I could simply flip the mattress over... Then I did just that. I also added my 2" bouncy non-memory foam topper + 1" cotton topper + super smooth cotton mattress cover. So I basically DIYed a new mattress. And voila, so far so good, it no longer sinks (but time will tell how the long term experience is). If you're like me and cannot stand a sinking mattress, get the thinner version that has thinner "high density foam" layers, and if it still sinks just flip it over and add your own bouncy foam topper as a comfort layer. As customers, we shouldn't need to do this as making mattresses comfortable should be the job of manufacturers. But given that it's almost impossible to find a good extra firm mattress without "sinking" foam, this is probably about as far as we can go. ... show more

Bought this for our 3 year old when upgrading his bed. I wanted something with a lot of support that was going to be sturdy and hold up to a toddler who moves around a lot and would probably be jumping on his bed all the time. I want to say assembly for this was crazy easy. However I took one star off because one of the screws in the headboard that you have to loosen to hook the side piece onto, was so stuck it stripped the tool that came with it. I tried several other things to get it loose and ultimately was able to find a bit for our impact driver that fit and got it out. I don’t know why only that screw was so stuck but I was exhausted and frustrated trying to get that thing out after putting the entire rest of the frame together. It was literally the last screw I needed loosened. But in the end I got it out and bed put together and it looks great, very sturdy. I really love that the support boards are attached with Velcro. Our other beds they have been nailed on and as a military family who moves every 3 years, the frames get ruined from nailing those pieces on. Also all the pieces came inside the back of the headboard which had a large zipper, so next time we move we plan to disassemble ourselves and put the pieces back in there so the movers don’t loose anything. ... show more

Context We've now purchased three different Zinus bedframes. A king-size and two separate twins (the Lottie). In between these purchases we tried other bedframes from different Amazon brands, IKEA, and some retail store options. The king-size bedframe we've owned for 2-3 years, the twin frames we've had less than month. Pros * Packaging is excellent so everything arrives unscathed and tucked neatly into the headboard * Material quality is above-average for Amazon and punches well above its price point * Sturdiness is superb and again well above its price point (no squeaks, nothing breaks, solid) * Can handle rough housing and the hellfire of a 4-5 year old jumping non-stop * Easy to disassemble, pack into the headboard and move if needed - we've moved our king three times * The padded headboard serves as a ledge to rest stuff like a phone or drink if you lack nightstands Cons * None so far Verdict We recently tried another Amazon no-name bedframe and had to return it due to poor QC and general disappointment with the quality. It was more expensive than the Lottie too. Once you've built one Zinus frame you'll really hate building other beds. My spouse says we'll never buy another brand's bedframes because she loves the simple, dependable quality and thoughtful details from this company - couldn't agree more. ... show more

I want to start off by saying this is a great bed. It seems really sturdy, it’s well made, inexpensive, nice to look at and it was relatively easy to put together (I was able to build it alone in an hour or two). The problem for us was that you really can only use a standard mattress thickness unless you want it comically high. TLDR: this won’t work for kids if you have a thicker mattress. We bought this for our toddler (yes I know that sounds ridiculous with a queen mattress but it was the extra mattress we had sitting around). We thought we would be good to go because it’s low profile, until we realized that for a thicker mattress, we really need a floor to slat distance of no more than 10”. This is 14”. It’s just way way too high for our purposes. I wouldn’t consider this a good options for kids, if that’s what you were going for. ... show more
