Extremely easy to assemble, honestly I could’ve done it by myself without my husbands help. The instructions are VERY clear and VERY simple. Only thing is some screws come built in already- hard to tell from instructions. They do need loosening before attaching certain pieces which it does not indicate but is pretty obvious. My son purchased this bed a couple years ago and loves it. When it was time for me to replace my old clunker, I decided to follow suit. It went together fast (ratcheting allen wrench included!), instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I've never had a platform type bed, so was a little skeptical - but this is sturdy and well made. Topped it with a Swiss Ortho pillow-top mattress (also from Amazon). Best sleep I've had in years. We bought this platform because we had a new bed on the way & needed something quickly. It takes me a long time to pick out an item because I go through all the reviews & such. This seemed like the perfect bed. Color was good(gray) and it looked pretty easy to assemble (we are in our late 60's and not as limber as the old days). Between the 2 of us, hubby & I figured it out (& it took less than an hour). I was the brains & he was the brawn. The one problem we noticed was the bed had a mark on it. So the question was; call them & they would probably send us another piece or put it together & the heck with it. We chose the latter as our mattress would be here in days. And we are not interested in taking it apart to replace the piece now. We are happy with it. Just know that the headboard is a little short if you use a lot of pillows. The packaging was amazing -- all the parts tucked in a zipper compartment on the headboard. I've assembled lots of furniture, but this came with a game changer -- a small hex ratchet that made the final tightening a breeze! The bed feels sturdy (super strong Velcro for the slats). It's for the guest room and my son and his wife will be down next weekend to "christen" it. Will definitely update with how that goes. The only thing I would change would be little labels on the actual parts, but they are pretty distinctive, and I didn't have to undo or redo anything. UPDATE: My son, his wife and their two children all piled on and slept through the night! They reported that the bed did not feel shaky, made no noise and was very comfortable. Some of the parts were defective from the package, that wouldn't connect thru screws. I am giving 1 stars because I made numerous attempt to not to return the package and contact zinus instead but they never bothered to reply to emails to provide support.
