This bed is solid wood (no veneers, no MDF, no plywood), and it's built like a tank. It's absolutely solid, with no wiggles, squeaks, or movement whatsoever. That also means it's heavy, which isn't a problem unless you plan on moving it a lot. Once you get it put together and tightened down, it's very difficult to disassemble it (to get it through a door, for instance), so build it in the room you want it in, and don't plan on taking it apart or moving houses with it easily. I am handy, and I put the entire thing together by myself, and it took me about an hour. Getting the slats on (with the velco lined up correctly) was a pain, but the rest of the build wasn't too bad. It's heavy (as already stated), and it really would have been easier to put it together with two people. If you're looking for a very reasonably priced bed that is solid wood and that will last a lifetime, this is for you. Once you get it put together, and tighten everything down well, it's going to be rock solid and survive most anything. The style is as pictured: simple, with a nod towards mid-century. It's styling is very basic and classic -- it doesn't draw attention to itself, which also will add to the longevity, since it could be used in most decor. ... show more

I've bought many many furniture that needed to be assembled from various online and offline stores. From my experience, IKEA furniture has been the easiest and most well aligned. I mean some of those furnitures are just so terrible and hard to assemble. So when I bought this Zinus bed from Amazon, I expected it to be like other furniture not from IKEA. Holes not aligning, rough edges, etc. To my surprise, this bed was so much better than any furniture I've had to assemble. First, I expected some pieces to be broken since delivery guys often throw packages right at my door. But it was so nicely packaged, nothing was broken or missing. Each Styrofoam that was protecting the frame pieces were all packaged in a plastic bag so no Styrofoam was flying everywhere. I was impressed there. Second, I prepared wood glue to glue some stressed areas so it would be more sturdy. But I didn't need any glue. All the parts were already reinforced that no glue was needed at all. It was a little confusing to understand the instructions at first, since the numbers and letters didn't seem to match the instruction, but once I figured out how it was laid out, it was so much easier than the ikea instructions. Third, all screws and bolts and such were all laid out on a thick paper, marked and sealed so it was easy finding which screw was needed where. It also had plenty of extras in case some rolled in the vent or something. Lastly, the tool that came with was nice and not dinky that I actually used that tool to assemble this bed! It took about 30 minutes for me and my husband to assemble this bed and it's nice and sturdy. You can tell a lot of thought and consideration went into this bed for the consumers to make this bed as easy to assemble as possible and I really appreciate that. If all other zinus furniture is well-made like this bed, I would confidently buy any furniture made by zinus. 100% recommend. ... show more

    • Beautiful and sturdy, but.........

This is a beautiful bed frame that with 2 of us, was very easy to put together. We got it done in under an hour. The ONLY reason for the 4-star was that the directions that came with it were mismarked. The directions had all the pieces marked A, B, C, etc. yet all the pieces were marked 1, 2, 3, etc, and did not correspond to the ABC. Thankfully I'm an IKEA girl and can follow pictures well. We only had one issue and of course, the very first piece we connected we found out at the very end was upside down so we had to dismantle part of the bed and re-do it. Besides that, the bed is very sturdy and does not creak. The height is comfortable to sit on. The color is on the orange-yellow side. Seems like it will hold up for a very long time. ... show more

This was so easy to assemble and is very sturdy! Took 20 minutes to assemble. Best price for a cute and quality bedframe. The Velcro for the slats is so smart! No rubbing or moving and the mattress stays firmly in place on the slats thanks to the slip resistant coating. Really amazing that the metal center support beam has 3 feet while most cheap frames on Amazon just have one support strut. Came with plenty of extra hardware too. My boyfriend thought I spent like $500 on it instead of $275! Said he will be taking notes from it for a bedframe he’s building. ... show more

I love Zinus and their bedframes. This is the 3rd Zinus bed frame I've purchased and assembled and each on was straight forward and easy to assemble. All of them have also been easy build and extremely sturdy. They were even simple to take apart and reassemble during moves. The one downside of this bed frame is how small the head board is. When you lean your pillows up against it, the headboard completely disappears. I wish Zinus made more furniture for bedrooms, like side tables, drawers, and book shelfs! ... show more
