    • Great mattress, exceeds expectations!
After weeks of extensive research, we settled on this mattress for a couple of reasons. 1. We liked the hybrid nature. We wanted something that provided cushion and support, but found that all memory foam mattress were a little too soft and sinky for us. A hybrid is the best of both worlds! 2. Price. You cannot beat Zinus' pricing. While we definitely didn't want to buy something that was cheap, we aren't at the point where we are willing to spend $1000+ on a mattress (aka Mattress Firm etc.). Zinus offers a great product at an unbeatable price. 3. Convenience. Delivered right to your door, easy to set up. 4. The Zinus Smartbase. We were upgrading from a full, so needed to get a new bedframe. Knowing that we could buy both the base and mattress from Zinus eased a bit of the stress/confusion about what to get and set up compatibility etc. I was a little nervous purchasing this mattress due to the lack of reviews. I think it's a relatively new Zinus product. However, all of my reservations went out the door the first night I slept on the mattress. It is soft and supportive at the same time. We definitely don't sink into it. Yes, you can feel the springs on the side (if you press into the side), but it has absolutely no bearing on your sleeping experience. I bought this mattress for a weekend cabin and have to wonder if my mattress is really the same as the others reviewed here. I've read that it is firm, sometimes too much -which is actually a big selling point for me. In my experience it isn't firm in the least! It feels like the same, sinking, creaky-springed mattress I was replacing, but with a buffer of thin foam so that the springs don't dig too hard into your flesh. Also,I have an acute sense of smell and am very sensitive to harsh chemical odors - there were NONE with my mattress. Yet others have complained about this. Go figure. I'm glad it won't be used all the time, as I'd be sleepless and stiff. But that's just me. Other reviewers have had entirely different experiences. Purchasing this mattress is a bit of a gamble, but compared to what a "proper" mattress like the ones from Room & Board that I otherwise swear by, it is a gamble that won't break the bank. ... show more

Mattress would have been good for my daughter's first "big girl bed" except it came screwed up. When the plastic was melted/sealed around the mattress it was done too hot/hard and the plastic melted through to my mattress... And it's not like I can return it, it's too big to go back in the box now, plus it was meant to be a Christmas present. ... show more

The top couple inches of this mattress is NOT made of memory foam. Highly disappointed to find that it is regular, stiff foam. They compress and vacuum seal the bed in such a way that it fits in a convenient size box that makes it impossible to return after it's opened, unless you happen to have a box lying around the house that will accommodate a full size mattress. Not worth the price at all without the advertised memory foam layer! Now have to spend another $80 to buy a memory foam topper, albeit NOT from Zinus! ... show more
