This is my 3rd bed! I bought one for myself, wanting to see if the bed lived up to the recommendations. I was skeptical. But we LOVE it. I previously invested in very expensive beds. And I had great sleep quality on them. But with this bed, the quality is the same and a very significant savings. My benefits: Firm, but absorbing. There isn't a lot of energy conducted, so when you partner moves you barely feel it. Very comforting and comfortable support. Getting used to: I've never had this type of mattress before and I found that once you've settled into a position, then go to move to a new one (I constantly move), the "indent" you've made from your body weight will take a minute to adjust to your new position. I desperately needed a new mattress but was scared to purchase one sight unseen. I read the reviews on the Zinus and decided to take a chance. I kept reading how firm it was so I was nervous. My last mattress was a pillow top and not firm after 8 years. But when I tell you when I sleep on my Zinus it is perfect. It is firm, but it’s not hard. It conforms to my body and is perfectly comfortable. The best part is, I was having very bad neck pain and seeing a chiropractor, my neck pain has decreased significantly.     • Slightly too big for ikea bed

I didn’t like the mattresses at ikea so I got 2 of these for the ikea Hemnes daybed that pulls out to make a king size bed. These mattresses feel much better than the ikea ones, and the 5” thick is good! They are a little too wide though. It’s fine when they are stacked for the daybed. When you pull the king out you have to turn the mattresses (which is what we intended to do anyway) but then you kind of have to stuff them together and they hang a bit on the bottom. I’m still keeping these because we are mainly using the bed as a twin, so we will make it work. Just wanted to note that for others who are looking for that purpose. I would say that if I was using them just as a twin and not stacked, I would want to go thicker. The 5” is pretty thin, but fine for a kids bed. Just like I said about the box spring I bought online, I can't believe I bought a Queen-sized mattress online! I didn't have to drive to every store that sells mattresses to find a deal on a mattress that smells like pickles when it is delivered. (yes - that happened once) This was delivered right to my door hassle-free and hermetically sealed with all of the air sucked out of it and rolled up in 2 layers of heavy plastic. It would have been much easier if I had some help because it was super heavy and I'm kind of old but strong and determined. So I won. You have to be super careful when opening the box if you use a knife so you don't cut through the plastic or slice the mattress. It will start to expand and that isn't good until you have it in place. I removed the first layer of plastic, put the mattress on top of the box spring and carefully cut the last layer of plastic and it started to "inflate" right away. It was easy to pull the plastic off and within an hour it seemed to be fully fattened up. It had the slightest of odors but I'm sensitive to scents and it disappeared within the hour. It is so comfortable! It is firm until you lay on it and then you kind of sink a little. I think the more you weigh the more you'll sink but it keeps it's shape and has a very nice attached cover that is super soft. I don't believe I'll need a separate mattress cover and will put the sheets right on the mattress. My only concern is that my guest will get too comfy and won't want to leave. It is more comfortable than my expensive King-sized bed from a bougie department store. I would have given 5-stars but it wasn't cheap and it is solid foam with no coils so I will trust this will hold up better if used only occasionally for guests - not every night. So for that purpose it is worth the price and the wrestling match. Glad that I read all the good reviews and made the decision to purchase this mattress. I'm very happy with it and would highly recommend giving it a try! ... show more
