🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Zinus 12" Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress is highly rated by the majority of users for its comfort and durability, even after multiple years of use. Both back and side sleepers find the mattress comfortable, though a small number of people notice deep pressure points over extended use. The mattress tends to keep its shape well, with no major dips or lumps. The bed is noted for not being too soft or too firm, and does not retain undue amounts of heat.

Pros

  • 👍 Provides deep, relaxing sleep
  • 👍 Keeps its shape well and doesn't form lumps or dips
  • 👍 Retains neither too much heat nor results in excessive sweatiness
  • 👍 Good at not transferring movement, making it perfect for people sharing a bed

Cons

  • 👎 Some users (especially side sleepers) experienced deep pressure points on their hips over time
  • 👎 May move slightly during vigorous activity due to lack of grooves, slots or tabs to secure the mattress to the frame

Should I Buy It?

Absolutely! The Zinus 12" Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress seems to be a fantastic bed for both back and side sleepers. It is durable, comfortable, and won't break the bank. Just keep in mind the minor issues some users have reported, such as pressure points for some side sleepers over the long term and the lack of mechanism to secure it to the bed frame.

  • Best mattress I've ever owned!
Color: White Size: Twin Style: 6in
First off, i read hundreds of these reviews before buying my matress. I bought this mattress in December 2020, I have owned it for over a year and a half now and feel like it is time to leave a review. I will start by saying, this is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. When I go to a hotel, family members house, camping etc. I cannot wait to get back home to my own bed. I would also note that I am a back/side sleeper. To address the negative comments here. Obviously things happen, but in my experience. I don't understand how other people have mold, but I have never had this issue.. I live in Florida and it is very humid, and I have absolutely no signs of mold on my mattress. I have not seen any signs of bed bugs or any other bugs. The mattress expanded to the full 6" within 24 hrs of opening out of the plastic wrap. I don't know about the fiberglass inside, but I have a dust mite proof cover on it since I bought it. So, either way it doesn't matter. I have had no issues breathing. I have seen the warning label others have posted a picture of, that says "do not remove the inner cover"... like the "warning hot contents" label on coffee lids, some people won't listen to warnings, and then cry about it afterwards when they get hurt. The mattress is just as comfortable as the day I bought it. I have a herniated disk and have 0 back issues on this mattress. It is a bit on the firmer side to be sure. I am 160lbs and sink a tiny bit into it. I flip it over every 6 months to avoid any holes, I also rotate it 180° as well. Overall this mattress is an amazing deal. I bought my twin mattress for $137. I bought a 2nd one for my spouse. We had a queen bed before from a mattress store that cost over $2000 and we would always roll into one another. Now we each have our own and sleep soundly every night. I recommend this mattress to all my friends and family. I will buy another one of these mattresses in the future when this one wears out. Best of luck to you! ... show more

  • A Perfect Comfy Mattress For Any Age
Color: White Size: Twin Style: 6in
The Zinus 6 Inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress is a fantastic product I cannot recommend enough. When I first received the mattress, I was impressed by its overall quality and construction. The manufacturer puts much effort into creating a comfortable and durable product. One of the best things about this mattress is that it is made from green tea-infused memory foam. This makes the bed incredibly comfortable to sleep on and ensures that it doesn't have any unpleasant odors often associated with memory foam products. I was pleased to discover that the mattress was odorless from unpacking it. Another great feature of this mattress is its overall design. It is six inches thick, which makes it perfect for people who want a thinner mattress that still provides excellent support. The foam is also designed to contour your body's shape, providing a comfortable sleeping experience every time. Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase of the Zinus 6 Inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress. It is a high-quality product that provides excellent comfort and support and has no unpleasant odors. I recommend this mattress to anyone looking for a high-quality, affordable memory foam mattress. ... show more

  • Very Comfortable
Color: White Size: Twin Style: 6in
I ordered three of these for my kids' bunk beds and their trundle bed. I opted for the 6 inch because their bunk bed is metal and I wasn't so sure about a foam mattress in the first place. After reading all of the reviews, good and bad, I decided that, for the price, it was worth a shot. They come rolled up, in a box inside of a bag inside of another bag. The box weighs approximately 20lbs. Easy enough for me to carry inside even with a pulled muscle in my back. Pulling it out of the white bag that it came in was pretty cumbersome so I ripped the seam of the bag and my daughter and I ripped the bag open. They're vacuume sealed inside of a clear plastic bag. As soon as we ripped the clear plastic bag open, almost immediately, the mattress started to decompress. Within a couple of hours, they were to their full size. I'll try and upload a couple of pics later. The mattress itself has a zippered cover on it. I read some reviews about how when they washed it it started to ball up and come apart. In my opinion, the cover isn't really intended to be used as a sheet, it's just a protective cover that the mattress goes in since it is foam. I put my kids' sheets on the bed just like normal. However, because I have memory foam pillows, I know how nasty the protective cover can get, that's just on a pillow. I could imagine the cover on the mattress could get equally dirty, but with proper weekly sheet changes, you should only have to wash the protective cover once every three months maybe longer depending on your preference. If you intend to wash the protective cover on your mattress you should be careful when removing it because you could tear or puncture the foam and the mattress could eventually fall apart. I recommend either hand washing the cover or placing it in alone on the gentle cycle and then allowing it to air dry, not put it in the dryer. That will keep the protective cover from balling up and coming apart. COMFORT. When buying a mattress you always look for what's comfortable for you. My eight year old has always had a hard time falling asleep. He tosses and turns trying to find a comfortable position and when he starts to drift off to dreamland he usually jerks himself awake for one reason or another. Within minutes of him going to bed he was out and he slept the entire night. I personally have a very expensive pillow top coil spring mattress that I keep a feather bed on, after just laying on their bed last night, I'm considering getting rid of my very expensive pillow top coil spring mattress and switching to this one. I am very highly satisfied and will be purchasing another twin 6 inch for my daughter's bed. My kids got the best night's sleep they have had in a very long time because of these. ... show more

  • Cheap 6-in Bed but Decent if you aren't Picky
Color: White Size: Twin Style: 6in
I needed a bed for college and didn't want to spend too much money on a bed since I'd have to get rid of it after the school year ended. I basically just placed this mattress on the floor and sleeped on it japanese style without a frame. If you are very picky about your beds the 6in is probably not the way to go, but I can sleep just about anywhere and just wanted something that wasn't a spring mattress and provided decent cushion from the hard ground. Anyways, I thought the bed was decent especially for the price. After a while the mattress cover started to pill and I wanted to remove it to throw it in the wash, but the zipper is glued in place. Keep in mind I've comfortably slept in a cot for half a year so if that sounds terrible to you I would get a thick version of this bed. As for the foam layers, the high density foam is pretty firm about as firm as a spring mattress. The memory foam part is very squishy like softer than a dish sponge. Not sure about the Comfort Foam since that didn't come in the 6in version, but I figure it's somewhere in between those two. Final conclusion, this is a great throw away bed. ... show more

  • I’m happy with it!
Color: White Size: Full Style: 6in
I ordered this mattress in May, after I saw that the price had gone down to about $100 (my budget for full mattress was $100) + free shipping. Reading the reviews, I was worried I’d be one of the people who had a bad experience with this mattress and I didn’t know what I’d do if so. It arrived around May 21st but I was in Tx at the time and didn’t return to my new apartment til May 27th. The packaging looked fine but I didn’t want to open it until my frame was set up (Malm High bed frame from Ikea) which didn’t happen until May 31st. I didn’t realize until then that the company advises you to open the package within like 72hours of delivery. It’d been delivered over a week prior by this point so my worry that it wouldn’t rise and look proper increased tenfold. Finally around 5pm I opened it and put in on the frame (mattress is slightly too big for frame in length and width btw but not so much so that it was an issue for me). The smell is indeed strong so I opened a window. Honestly, within like an hour, it’d reason significantly and I couldn’t resist laying on it a few hours later that night just to get an idea of how comfortable it is and....IT’S SOOOO SOFT and comfy! (Mind you, I’m coming from years of twinXLs in dorm so I could be biased). The recommended wait time is 24-48hours so I decided not to actually sleep in it that night even though, again, it looked ready to go. Slept on it the following night and it’s been great so far. Obviously, I haven’t been sleeping on it for even a week yet so I’ll try to update in a few months, especially if there are any issues. As for the smell, it didn’t last too long. Then again, in addition to the open window I had a glad plugin with Gawain breeze scent I installed the previous day (which smells AMAZING btw). Hope this helped! ... show more

  • nice and firm 6inch narrow twin!
Color: White Size: 75" x 30" Style: 6in
I purchased this mattress for my travel trailer as we remodeled it from a Queen to two narrow twins. I am 5'6" and 215lbs and a side sleeper. I needed something that would not sink to the frame if I sat on it or laid on it. This certainly fit the bill. I read literally hundreds of reviews of foam, foam combination and foam hybrid mattresses over a two month period trying to make up may mind. Many of the negative reviews for these "bed in a box" type mattresses centered around horrible smell, the mattress not expanding to it's full height and even one about health issues from fiberglass {or ?} shards from opening the cover that it came in. I don't know about the shards of material from inside the cover as I am not about to remove the cover. In fact, I will be inserting it into an additional waterproof cover, putting a blanket underneath it, then adding a 2" egg crate gel topper plus a fluffy queen size quilt folded in half to lay on. I laid on the mattress only and I was far from sinking down to the flat frame. I will just be adding a bit of "Cush for the Tush". As for not decompressing to full dimension as advertised let me say this. The distribution point for my area was within a couple hundred miles so my mattress arrived within only a few days. Also, I opened it up and laid it out within an hour of receiving it. NO smell whatsoever and it decompressed to it's full 6inches within 2hrs if not sooner. I believe it is VERY IMPORTANT to have any type of foam mattress shipped to you from the closest possible facility even if it costs a bit more. All this being said, I do not know how durable it will be but since it will only be used for 60 or so nights a year while camping. I also have no opinion on how comfortable it would be for long term {daily} use. For the price I think it is a GREAT firm foundation to build on. It is not heavy but it is very supportive. With some inexpensive additions for comfort I am very satisfied. Again, I am 73 years young, 5'6" and 215 lbs. I will write another review after I have spent some time sleeping on it to assess the sleep quality, pain relief and overall comfort. ... show more

  • it's a comfortable bed
Color: White Size: Twin Style: 6in
Now I wasn't expecting greatness, especially given the reviews, but this mattress is definitely a huge upgrade from my old memory foam mattress. I sleep on a loft bed (with a ceiling fan that is always turned on and is about a few inches away from my head lol) and prior to getting this mattress, I was sleeping on a 12 inch memory foam matters which was very plush. The reason I decided to go with a lower mattress was so that I, 1: wouldn't get hit by the fan, and 2: I would no longer get back, shoulder, and neck pain. This mattress fixed all of that. Yes, it's a little harder then most memory foam mattresses but, because of it's hardness, I no longer get any sort of pain (mostly because I'm not sinking into it to the point where my spine is curved in a weird way). I also no longer feel like I'm sinking (which is another plus). The mattress is also good for people who sleep on their sides as well. It's still memory foam so you still will sink into the mattress. Your shoulder won't get any pain like the type you would get sleeping on a spring mattress. (unless your pillow is so thin that it's literally apart of the mattress). Overall, I recommend this mattress as it won't break the bank and it's still really comfortable even if it's a little hard. ... show more

  • Bad Product
Color: White Size: Full Style: 6in
I don't understand all of the positive reviews on this product. I know the mattress market is saturated and expensive. This is not a suitable option to consider for any budget. The package arrives nicely wrapped in a trendy box. Once you open the box it has a strong stale cardboard- locker room odor that was present for the duration of the first evening. The product itself expanded and looked legit - The mattress was very firm and my mid-back sank into it- it does not support spinal alignment. Your back will not be happy after a long work day..... Furthermore, Once I set my bed up, I looked at my fingers and noticed glitter all over my hands. I'm so glad I noticed this before putting on my new clean bedding... wow.... Upon further investigation, the glitter that was all over my hands was actually tiny glass particles..... fiberglass. ZINUS company discreetly, covertly uses fiberglass underneath the white cover. The cover does not protect the fiberglass particles from being released, the cover was a porous fabric and I can only imagine how it absorbs sweat..... So, I noticed glitter on my hands, I took my flashlight and noticed glitter on my floor, glitter on my dogs fur. It was an absolute mess. It took a good one-two weeks to remove all of the glitter in my room. (aka fiberglass) I was scared it would get in my dog's feeding bowls, I was scared I was inhaling it. SEE: nightmare videos where people have to vacate their homes from THIS product because they remove the cover and get glass saturated into everything and they have to throw everything away. "allegedly" This is not an ethical company..... NO. "allegedly" This mattress belongs in the trash. if you're like me- you will feel allergic to it, can't breath, bad back, itchy skin... Just buy a good mattress, you work hard, you deserve it. Avoid this. "allegedly" thanks. ... show more
