There is no kind way to start this review so I'm just going to be blunt because you deserve blunt in mattress buying - it is SO important to be clear because a good/bad mattress GREATLY impacts your life! So here we go with the blunt - are you ready?! We're short, fat people. No. Really! About 100lbs overweight each. Don't judge - we have our reasons & I'm not sharing to open myself up to ridicule + with the New Year we are committed to losing! So why do you need to know we're fat, short people?! So you will know that because of our sizes we have really put this mattress through a workout since we bought it in August...and it is FABULOUS!!! I'm a side then move to back sleeper & my husband is a back sleeper & we both sleep like the dead in this bed! The bed is NOT hot, when we climb in (hello- we're short gotta climb!) we can tell there are springs, but when we lay down we don't feel them (no poking, etc.), and overall our bodies just feel well supported in a not too firm way! To think we bought this as a temporary bed - just to have since we moved 2200 miles & weren't taking our old mattress with us. We figured after we found a house to buy we'd upgrade - found the house faster than we planned & now this bed is coming from our temporary apartment to our house!!! With the outlay of so much money updating the house it's nice to not have to invest in a new bed! Just to give you a comparison - previously we had the Lucid 10" (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00478U768/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which at the time we spent $349 on & is now priced at $287 as it should rightfully be priced less than this bed because the Lucid SUCKED! It was comfortable for about the first 6 months & then it started forming a divot in the shape of our bodies & gotta say - even when you are the person making the divot you still don't want a fat person divot in your bed! The Lucid was also REALLY hot - we would sweat on a winter's night while it was raining outside & the inside of our house was never warmed to more than 68°F! The divot also affected smoochy-smoochy time (divots are REALLY not conducive to that!). We kept the Lucid for about 18 months after we were both disgruntled with it because we knew we were moving & wanted to move small. For the last 6 months I didn't even sleep with my husband. I slept in this recliner (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WGJHHW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in the living room & got WAY better sleep in a cheapo (yet fabulous) recliner that's NOT made for fat people than I ever did in the Lucid! Bottomline - this fat lady has sung! Mattress buying is over! If we need another mattress at some point we'll be buying this one again! Already decided to buy the Queen size for our guest room & the 8" Twin for our children! I feel like Oprah - guests get a Zinus, children get a Zinus, everyone (in our family) gets a Zinus! Absolutely Loved it. Awesome Mattress at such a low price. This Hybrid mattress was delivered in my time and it just took 2 hours to expand to its full form. I am 6'4" and 235 pounds weight. In the past i bought foam only mattress that gave me a lot of back pain. But now after buying this hybrid mattress with innerspring and foam as top layer my back pain is gone. I highly recommend this mattress. Being a contractor i move a lot in the US. And of course will save this mattress and will buy it again if i move to a new place Lol. I regret ordering this! These reviews are not all the same. The company and item line name is but the models are not so many of these reviews can be easily confused. For example, one person can "love" the Zinus mattress but if you look at their pics, it maybe the hybrid or 12in. The feedback gets lumped into the same listing period. When I did research the ones specific to the one I was looking at, opinions vary widely. I do mean WIDELY. This review is for the 8in Spring with "foam", full sized. Cons: - Those who said this was medium firm may have been comparing this to a box spring with a thin comforter on top or Plymouth Rock. This sucker is firm alright. I don't even feel that "Foam layer" under that padded quilting. You are laying on covered springs in my opinion. Let's be more specfic: I am 5'7", average and proportionate active body at about 160 lbs. I typically side sleep but can sleep on my back. I bought this for my 4 year old but sometimes he asks us or we snuggle with him. Besides, wouldn't you be curious about the new mattress anyways? - whatever it is, material odor has not dissipated in 2 days so far - compared to my old Sleepy's mattress, the dimensions are slightly larger because regardless o my measurements, it still fit into the fram snugly while my old one just dropped in nicely. - NO MANUFACTURER SUPPORT YET. Clicked the link to the website and it listed as "Page Not Found" on their very own site!! - How do you return this? Dunno, trying to figure that out now. Sent Amazon (since it was sold by Amazon Services LLC) a message saying the item was possibly damaged during shipping (box end was hastily re-taped and dragged. One corner is misaligned and I cannot realign fabric to stay covering that coil corner - maybe just shoddy craftmanship?). UPS will not take the mattress when I asked a handler which is true. If you think of it, the original shipping was roll/packed and now you're trying to return with a fully opened one where you don't have the equipment to compress, vacuum seal and roll it? - besides, you'll be dragging ~75 compacted pounds. FYI - If I can't get a resolution from Amazon or Zinus - hahah - then I'll calling AMEX to dispute this crap Pros: - roll packing concept is neat vs the old school on top of the truck/car method. Yep, that's all for the Pro. I have to really wonder how this particular 8" model got even that many "great" reviews. I don't normally pick items that have less than 15 great reviews because that's shady in my opinion. Are there that many people transitioning from a rock to this mattress???? I will update if Amazon resolves this situation. Right now, i will depend on them because it seems Zinus maybe one of those "fly by nighters" made in a foreign country. Buyer beware! Update: Amazon CS resolved my issue! The rep was excellent. I wish I recall her name right now so I can give her a proper shout out but she was friendly and worked with I guess her supervisor to authorize the refund and make things right. Thank you. I bought this for the middle bunk of my sons' triple bunk bed. I needed it to be 6 inches exactly in order to sit flush inside their mattress frame. I was very happy with this upon arrival. Kind of had an odd smell at first but it was exactly as described and was a PERFECT fit. My 7 year old said it's very comfy too. Great price and fast shipping. One of their other mattresses doesn't have too long of a life left and when it's worn out, I will order another one of these for sure. ... show more

I bought two of these and one had a metal spring sticking out, so while they seem really good this could be dangerous if you don't take the time to inspect it and fix it, I had to bend the wire over itself then ducktape the wire over then bend it back in. I bought two of these only one had a problem so far, but they are for kids bunk beds so you can imagine had I missed this the kids could have been hurt bad. ... show more
