I got this after ditching my wooden box spring earlier this year. I have been sleeping on a modified platform installed within the frame of an old 4 poster bed. The mattress set so far down into the frame it was like climbing a wall to get out of bed. SO, I figure what could be better than metal box springs, right? I measured the side rails of my bed and chose the 5in box spring. This sits down nearly even with the side rails. My mattress has just a little 'catch' from the side rails, so its less likely to slide off with daily use. First off, Assembly says two people. I was able to put this together in about an hour on my own. I did not place the slats until I had the box spring in place on my bed frame. I did not use the provided cover. I felt that it was a touch small, and attempting to put it on resulted in the metal frame "jumping" off the 1in wood supports on my bed frame. That said this is heavy and when moving it you want to grab the slats to lift, they pop right off. To move this, solo or other wise, I recommend removing the slats, so you know what is fully attached and what is not. I nearly punched myself in the face when a slat popped loose. After a couple of days adjustment it is safe to say that I slept like a college kid on winter break after a week of nonstop finales, I did not move! My last box spring had so much give I could have been sleeping half in a crater, this was a serious upgrade. This box is actually about an inch too narrow for my 25year old wood bed frame. I say it this way because wood has give, especially old wood. What this meant for me is that climbing in bed a certain way, too quickly, or something (never figured out the trigger) the box would shift and jump from the bed frame supports. (If you have a wood frame bed, the little wooden tail of the 'L' that is the side rails.) After the third time, first at install, I realized several things. The first is that it could be a danger to me or the cat sleeping under the bed. The second, the box is HEAVY and hard to lift. The third being, I did not want to remove the mattress to gain access to the box to lift it back in place on a regular. My solution: 1/2in strap conduit brackets with two screws. I was able to flatten out the tops so they fit around the rectangle metal frame, and I used 1-1/4 in screws to secure the box to the wood bed frame. (Old bed thick wood. Check your frame before screwing anything into it. You don't want the tip of screws sticking out the wood where you could scratch yourself.) I used 3 straps per side, (head, foot, middle) up near the top of the box. Basically the highest point where I could attach both screws without splitting wood. This was a 5$ solution. Everything pulled tight, and I've not had a problem with the box 'jumping' from the frame. This is an excellent product. I would recommend this to anyone. And when I set my guest room up, I will be getting another for that bed. I would say don't be afraid to problem solve. Not ever bed frame is the exact same, despite what commercialization would have us to believe, every bed frame will ware differently. For me the cover didn't work, but by not using the cover I was able to see what was actually happening when the box moved.

I like assembling things, with or without instructions. This one is pretty intuitive to put together, but I still referred to the instructions just to be sure I was putting it together correctly. The tools provided were adequate. I think it would have gone together more quickly if I had used my own tools, but I wasn't in a hurry so I worked with what was provided. The frame is sturdy and works well with the all foam mattress that we already had. There is no sagging of the mattress between the support bars. It's been in use for several months now. While it's recommended that two people work together to assemble this, it's totally doable with just one person, which is how I did it. It's an awesome invention!

*Disclaimer- we have only had it a week- so I can't speak to long lasting quality yet* This arrived while my hubby was at work. It's in a pretty easy to manage box, it's heavy, but I was able to get it into the room on my own. I was also able to assemble it on my own, it was pretty simple. I'd reccomend assembling it pretty much where it's going to be set up. The instructions were JUST pictures and they were labeled with letters where as the actual parts were numbers, so that was slightly confusing, but pretty easy to figure out as there are not that many peices. It took me about an hour or so to put together on my own. Fits the bed well, seems pretty sturdy, I'm average size and my hubby is a bit heavy and it seems to be supporting us just fine. It sits much lower than our old traditional box spring. I'm really happy with it so far, I'll try to update after a year or so to speak more to quality.

The description says that the width is 75.5. Our platform bed is 77 inches across. 77 inch slats fit TIGHT. The wooden rails are about 3 inches each leaving about 71 inches in between. This box spring is too small width wise. It is about 70 inches wide. If it rests on one rail, it falls off the other. We are now using it with slats. Works but disappointed as it is not what is advertised. Easy to assemble. Feels sturdy. Quick shipping and a good way to get a king size box spring to your house without a truck.

This was comically confusing to assemble and Iโm so glad my spouse has power tools and knows how to use them. Once it was together though itโs totally solid and the cover is of good quality. It was worth the effort. It is not that cheap bad fabric thatโs going to just fall apart soon.

It is easy and straightforward to assemble it. I have assembled few other boxes before and did not have any issue with them during the use. However, for this product after almost a month of use, I can hear some strange noises. I tried to tighten all connections but it is still there.
