Decades ago mattresses were made with standard base with coils and many layers of foam, then many layers of cotton batting that were sewn into the layers for that pillow top sensation of luxury. I’ve cut many foam mattresses apart to make dog beds and furniture. I was excited for this mattress as it resembles the decade old luxury of batting on top of a mattress. Much to my surprise the top cover that you layon, although the medium plush is on point and amazing, the top covering is made of polyester, nylon, spandex? Lol and 14% of something called PE. When I’m in bed laying on my cotton fitted sheet, shuffling my feet, the sheet moves like I’m sliding on spandex. Had this been made with 100% cotton this would not be happening and there is no fix. I can sew but being able to intricately sew a thin layer of cotton in the design following the top stitching would be difficult requiring me to unzip it again potentially exposing fiberglass from the flame retardant covering inside. So yes it’s an amazing memory foam mattress with some kind of batting on top sewn to look like a pillow top but it feels so slippery on top that it angers me that these companies are so cheap and have gotten away from true luxury which is cotton and are using synthetics which are created from plastics. Memory foam is a form of plastic, the batting is a shredded form of plastic not real cotton batting and the outer cover that you cover with sheets is made of several plastics-polyester Nylon Spandex and PE. Otherwise they made an amazing mattress minus using NO Cotton and creating a slipping environment when in bed because of the fabric chosen to create the covering. ... show more

I was hesitant to order this bed because I had never ordered a mattress online before, especially one that came in a box. I took a chance because the price was $600 for a Queen and gave me 6 months interest free to pay for it, and I have no regrets. I’m not sure I would have payed $900 for this bed but it’s def worth what I paid and I’m happy as can be. I also have a skinny wooden boxspring that I set it on which will hopefully help keep it right during the lifetime of the mattress. This mattress is very plush but firm. I bought a queen size for my very tall 12 year old. He was having trouble sleeping in his old smaller bed and his lack of sleep was adding to his anxiety. We have had this mattress for almost a week and he has been waking up so much happier and ready to start the day. I see such a change in his mood. He loves it so much. We have a much more expensive mattress in our bedroom and I honestly kind of like his better. I think this is an amazing option for the price. We love it ... show more

This mattress is by far the best purchase I have made through Amazon. I had a cheaper mattress, and I wanted to try a mattress that is a little more expensive. It totally worth the price. The instruction was simple, I just had to open the box and peel the wrap that covered the mattress. The mattress expanded to full size immediately, so I was able to sleep on the bed the night that I received. The cooling effect of the cover makes the bed cool which helps me sleep well and wake up refreshed without sweating. It is comfy, not too firm, and I could sleep like a baby every night. We had finally had the time to open up our ZINUS mattress. My youngest daughter was super excited to sleep that day. It felt like we were melting into the soft, and comfy cloud, and the next day, my older daughter asked if she could try sleeping on the mattress too! Both of my daughters were surprised to find out that they weren't very tierd the next day! I was so glad. Also, my daughters were very surprised about how soft it was. This is about our 4th or 5th mattress in a few years. My wife was suffering from back pain, and I constantly tossed and turned on our previous mattresses which were always sold as "Plush", but turned out to really be firm. This mattress is so comfortable, yet with great support... it makes getting out of bed hard. I usually just stay in bed when I am home, and I could lay on this mattress 24/7. I tried one of those fancy tv commercial mattresses but had to return since my back hurt and was disappointed with the price. However, this mattress is worth the money, easy setup, no odor or smell, recovered fully within an hour, and the best part is that my back is happier and was not waking up with body heat.
