What happened to Zinus Quality? The name Zinus used to ring of a quality mattress and a good nights sleep. That hasn't been the case for the last three mattresses we received The first was okay... the last two, unfortunately don't measure up (pun intended). Plus they must use elephants to determine firmness. Last two ordered were supposedly medium and they are hard to the point of feeling like you are sleeping on the floor. We order one for our RV several years ago and it a great night's sleep. Ordered a King for our guest room about three months ago and it is firm, not medium firm. Ordered a Queen for our second guest room and the first one felt okay but it was only 10 3/4 inches.. contacted Amazon and they delivered another out today.. same thing.. The mattress is supposedly 12 inches and the box reads 12", but the mattress barely peaks 11 inches and it is extra firm. At 240lbs I would expect to sink into a medium firmness mattress, but I don't even make a dent. I hate putting my guests through that sleep experience. I guess Zinus has taken notes from the lumber industry.. where a 2x4 is actually 1 3/4 inches X 3 3/4 inches. Now the 12 inch Zinus is actually only 11inches high and made their firmness like hardwood..

So I was very hesitant to purchase because the previous mattress I purchased from Amazon was a hybrid and honestly it was very cheap. This mattress is not that! Before I wasn't sleeping through the night I was tossing and turning and waking up the next day sore but one night in this mattress I actually slept all night long and was so comfortable the mattress stayed pretty cool and I sleep on my stomach so I need a firm mattress but not rock hard. This mattress is perfectly firm enough for my to sleep comfortably and still soft and plush I even purchased the memory foam pillow as well best sleep I've gotten all year. I down graded from a California kind 14inch pillow too to that cheap queen sized hybrid and regretted it instantly but this mattress saved my sleep and my body I slept so good I woke up and my eye lashes were smacked against my eye lid lol I didn't even care that I had just paid to get them done the sleep was worth it I'd but again for sure I purchased the 12inch btw and I feel like I would be ok with the 14 as well I saw some ppl saying the 14 inch was too firm but I think that's impossible ppl just need to know the type of mattress that best works for how they sleep stomach sleepers need a more firm mattress and this was firm and soft and comfortable you won't regret the purchase i promise best sleep all 2026

After a month or so of use, it feels like we already are sleeping in a hole. Yes, I rotate it weekly. Hasn’t helped. It’s squishy but not supportive. It’s just ok.

Comfortable, Budget-Friendly Mattress with Impressive Everyday Support
Color: White
Size: Queen
Style: 12"
I am very pleased with the Zinus 12 Inch Green Tea Essential Memory Foam Mattress. Shipping was prompt, and the mattress arrived well-packaged in a compact box with no visible damage. Setup was straightforward—the mattress expanded quickly after unboxing and reached near full size within a short period. In terms of product quality, this mattress offers excellent comfort for the price range. The memory foam contours nicely to the body and provides a balanced medium feel that works well for side and back sleeping. The green tea-infused foam helps keep the mattress feeling fresh, and the fiberglass-free construction adds peace of mind compared to older foam mattress designs. What stood out most to me was the pressure relief. The foam cushions joints and distributes weight evenly, helping reduce soreness and improving overall sleep comfort. Motion transfer is also minimal, making it a good option for couples or light sleepers. While it may sleep slightly warm for some users, the breathable, airflow-friendly foam design helps more than many traditional memory-foam mattresses in this price category. From a value perspective, this mattress performs exceptionally well. Comparable memory-foam mattresses often cost significantly more, yet this one delivers reliable comfort, support, and convenience at a very reasonable price. It is especially well-suited for guest rooms, apartments, or anyone seeking a quality mattress without overspending. Overall, this is a comfortable, well-made mattress that provides strong support and excellent value. I would confidently recommend it to anyone seeking an affordable memory foam mattress with dependable everyday comfort.

Extra Firm Mattress
Color: White
Size: Queen
Style: 12"
This is the seventh Zinus mattress we have purchased and by far the worst. This is the furthest from being "Medium" support as I think "extra firm" would be an understatement. It's more like sleeping on concrete floor. I was hoping after several weeks/months that it would soften a bit. But no. We even added a soft foam mattress topper and it's still uncomfortable. All of the other Zinus memory foam mattresses we bought have been very comfortable. We've had it 10 months now (bought March 2025) so no recourse with Zinus. I don't know how they can be returned anyway after they are opened and the foam decompresses. But this has been a very disappointing purchase. There's a string of bad reviews from spring 2025 complaining about how rigid this foam is, including from repeat Zinus customers like me. I wonder if it was a bad batch of foam at the manufacturer, or if Zinus workers zipped the mattress cover on the wrong side of the mattress so we are sleeping on the stiffer base foam rather than the top layer memory foam. The "bottom" of the mattress actually feels softer than the top. Unfortunately, Zinus seems to have made the zipper inoperable after installing the cover and it cannot unzip the breathable knitted cover that came with it to try the other side of the mattress. Terrible sleep quality. Very disappointing purchase.
