    • Finally - an affordable, firm mattress

As a man of gravity (approaching 300lb) I look for a mattress that’s decidedly on the firm side. I can’t speak for everyone, but this was exactly what I was looking for to provide firm (but still comfortably soft) support. Out of the box, the top layer of foam did look rumpled and lumpy beneath the mattress cover. But by the end of the first night, everything was settled and smooth. (Make sure to let it unroll and rise fully in one place before trying to move it - I think trying to move it while it was expanding was my mistake.) After just one night, I feel more rested than I have in years of sleeping in memory foam and soft “hybrid” mattresses. It doesn’t seem to sleep hot - I’m like a space heater but this passed the sweat test in a 74° room. Dry and comfortable all night. For my weight, this mattress is great in any sleep position: side, stomach and back all feel natural. It has just enough sink so that my behind is flush with my spine if I’m on my back, which no mattress has ever managed to do for me before. If you’re on the lighter side, this might not be the same for you, but again, just speaking for my own size. The quilted top doesn’t have large divots like some mattresses, and the top layer of foam is just thick enough to feel plush without the marshmallow/quicksand feel of the Zinus memory foam mattresses. Great edge support too - sleeping on my side it felt stable right up to the edge. I wouldn’t sit on it to put my shoes on, though… it smashes flat under my weight in a sitting position. I purchased this mattress as part of plan to redo my room. I’ve had he mattress since July 2023 so here’s my rating so far: 1. I purchased on sale and was really unsure of what I was going to get. 2. Mattress came vacuum sealed in box that I could manage on my own if I had to. 3. Make sure (if you purchase) to put it on the bed when you’re ready to unseal because it begins to expand as soon as the seal is released. 4. I was really surprised and impressed at the quality of this mattress. I was nervous b/c my previous mattress was over 18” and this was only 13”. It expanded the moment we began to release the seal. It said to allow 24 hours for full expansion and I did, but I do think I could have slept on it that night because it expanded very quickly. The mattress was soft to the touch and had just the right amount of firmness for sleeping (for me). I was hesitant about purchasing a mattress online as that’s not something I would normally do but I decided to try to see what happened and I was not disappointed. I have slept well, and the mattress (so far) seems to be holding up as well as a store bought mattress. I don’t sit on the edge of the bed that often so I can’t attest to if will sag or not. I needed a new bed for an apartment, where do I start? One friend recently found a good deal at mattress firm and another friend bought a zinus mattress from Amazon. I went to mattress firm to see what was there and it waaay out of budget. So went to my friends house to check out here bed and it was nice. I could not believe what came from a box... So I tried to order the same but it was out of stock and I needed one asap... So I purchased this one, same company as hers. The box arrived in decent shape. It was heave, but not as heavy as the frame I ordered to go with it. I let the mattress decompress after opening it for 2 days. I had back surgery a few years ago, I life a firm mattress. This one is not as firm as I would think I want, but it more than firm enough. Medium plus. I have no issues sleeping on it. The middle edge will sink some when you sit on it, getting up this morning I notices... But the ends are firm and the corners are firm. The mattress makes no noise from the springs or anything. From sleeping to other things you do on a bed, I have no complaints. I was on the fence, waited around, worried about me messing up my back more being cheap. That was not the case. I am actually very, very happy and surprised with the bed. I give it 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations. I am sleeping comfortably and do not feel bad about my purchase. I let my budget lead and this time, it was right. Makes me really think about the overpriced mattress market. The other really expensive mattresses are nice, but you will pay 8 times or more what I paid here for one. I have no regrets and WILL buy again. ... show more

OK, after the video, within 5 minutes it was up to 11" on the edge and 13" on top. It's 7 days later, I've been sitting and lying on it all week (TV room). It's now 12' on edge and over "13 on top. So it's honored the size description. Fabric is chintzy, snags easy, but I'm using a cotton twin mattress cover (World Market) and sheets will also protect. No odor. I've been sitting on one side more than the other and after a week, no denting on top, but starting to bow out on the sides where I sit most (see last pic). I wanted to test this out first before I get the Cal King for my bed. I fell asleep a few times, sleeps good. Can't beat the price. Quality, thick, firm but cushy, bounces back. I think that's in part to the slats on the bench being even and solid. So be sure to use a good foundation. I'll need to get some sort of frame for my bed other than old school box springs with poor support. Will try to sit evenly all.over and flip often for consistent wear. ... show more

Absolutely my favorite Mattress! We have purchased 3 of them. One is in our Airbnb, one my daughter has and this one I personally use. I have got compliments on how comfortable this mattress is in our Airbnb. I prefer a softer mattress but my husband prefers a harder one. This mattress is just in the middle and is a perfect fit for both of us. It smells just fine and didn't smell awful when un-packaging. It was easy to get upstairs as it is rolled up tight. Two of us carried it upstairs. We put it on the bed frame and tore the plastic. It does advise against using a sharp object to open the bag. It is a really thick plastic but we were able to tear it. It Expands quickly. We waited 24 hours to sleep on it and it was great! It doesn't seem to hold heat. It is sitting halfway over a heat vent but I don't overheat at night with the heat blowing a bit towards the mattress. I really like this mattress. It is not too soft and not too hard. ... show more

UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER...I still absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my mattress still! This mattress is definitely worth it! There is still no divot from sleeping and I still wake up pain free. I can sleep in any position and still sleep soundly. If you are looking for a new mattress it's worth a try. Love this mattress!! I researched the different mattresses. Reviews, prices, longevity, durability and comfort. I have a lower back injury and a neck injury, so finding the right mattress in a bed in the box style was taking a chance that i could be in more pain from a mattress i didnt try out in a showroom. The first night was rough, i think mostly because it wasnt totally set, it had only been a couple of hours. But two weeks later and i sleep for longer than a couple of hours and wake up almost pain free. It was definitely worth the research! I am a side sleeper and with the neck and back issues i got a medium/firm. I dont sink and get stuck into it, i can roll over without waking up and the top is soft enough i dont get sore at the pressure points. If i need to buy another mattress it will be a lot easier and quicker next tine! ... show more

We received our mattress a few days ago and just opened it today. It's vacuum compressed in a large plastic bag and then wrapped with 1,300 feet of Saran Wrap so it's impossible to know what you've got until it's opened. We've ordered a similar "in the box" mattress from Amazon before and were very pleased so decided to roll the 🎲🎲 with this one. As soon as well pull the plastic off I notice a large yellow stain.. it's that typical sweat and or love juice stain that you'd expect to find in a few years old mattress on the side of the road. Near that stain and slightly less disgusting is a small black smudge this looks like someone worked on a car and then handled the bed with greasy hands. It's such a disappointing and disgusting thing to find on you're brand new bed. The black smudge could potentially something from warehouse handling, but the large yellow stain is so apparent: this is a used mattress. I'm only speculating, but maybe a previously used warranty return that is repurposed. I don't know. All I know is that you can't reasonably be expected to return a king size mattress anywhere. I hope we might be reimbursed in some way with a partial refund. That seems reasonable. We'll likely have to clean the bed to the best of our ability, disinfect it and then move on. Anyway, we haven't slept on it yet (it's still new and expanding), and you see the overwhelming reviews from people who love the bed. So just know you're taking a chance anytime you buy stuff like this. Godspeed. ... show more
