    • Finally - an affordable, firm mattress

As a man of gravity (approaching 300lb) I look for a mattress that’s decidedly on the firm side. I can’t speak for everyone, but this was exactly what I was looking for to provide firm (but still comfortably soft) support. Out of the box, the top layer of foam did look rumpled and lumpy beneath the mattress cover. But by the end of the first night, everything was settled and smooth. (Make sure to let it unroll and rise fully in one place before trying to move it - I think trying to move it while it was expanding was my mistake.) After just one night, I feel more rested than I have in years of sleeping in memory foam and soft “hybrid” mattresses. It doesn’t seem to sleep hot - I’m like a space heater but this passed the sweat test in a 74° room. Dry and comfortable all night. For my weight, this mattress is great in any sleep position: side, stomach and back all feel natural. It has just enough sink so that my behind is flush with my spine if I’m on my back, which no mattress has ever managed to do for me before. If you’re on the lighter side, this might not be the same for you, but again, just speaking for my own size. The quilted top doesn’t have large divots like some mattresses, and the top layer of foam is just thick enough to feel plush without the marshmallow/quicksand feel of the Zinus memory foam mattresses. Great edge support too - sleeping on my side it felt stable right up to the edge. I wouldn’t sit on it to put my shoes on, though… it smashes flat under my weight in a sitting position. All in all, an extraordinary mattress for the price, and one I hope to keep for years. Hope this helps, big dudes! ... show more

I purchased this mattress as part of plan to redo my room. I’ve had he mattress since July 2023 so here’s my rating so far: 1. I purchased on sale and was really unsure of what I was going to get. 2. Mattress came vacuum sealed in box that I could manage on my own if I had to. 3. Make sure (if you purchase) to put it on the bed when you’re ready to unseal because it begins to expand as soon as the seal is released. 4. I was really surprised and impressed at the quality of this mattress. I was nervous b/c my previous mattress was over 18” and this was only 13”. It expanded the moment we began to release the seal. It said to allow 24 hours for full expansion and I did, but I do think I could have slept on it that night because it expanded very quickly. The mattress was soft to the touch and had just the right amount of firmness for sleeping (for me). I was hesitant about purchasing a mattress online as that’s not something I would normally do but I decided to try to see what happened and I was not disappointed. I have slept well, and the mattress (so far) seems to be holding up as well as a store bought mattress. I don’t sit on the edge of the bed that often so I can’t attest to if will sag or not. So far, I have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this mattress is and to its quality. I would purchase again. ... show more

I am tired of buying expensive overrated mattresses in an attempt to reduce my pain. I have disabling neck and back pain. We let this mattress set up for 30 hours before sleeping on it. The mattress is very firm but after sleeping on it for one night I was able to walk better the next day. Also, I noticed my body pain was less with this mattress and I feel less point pressure while trying to fall asleep. It was nice not to toss and turn and get up multiple times the first night, if you want a firm mattress, at a low cost, I recommend this mattress.     • This is the second ZINUS mattress we have ordered- that's saying a LOT!

We ordered a king size ZINUS in November 2020 to replace a LUCID mattress we got just two years before. The Lucid was compressing (we are average size people) and was MURDER on our love lives: so much effort.. the mattress was too soft. The Zinus is a whole different animal! The inner spring coils did the trick. It is soft but super stable with the springs. ONE MONTH LATER- We wanted to replace the queen mattress in our Airstream and due to such an impressive experience with the king size, we opted to take a chance it would fit (RV mattresses are usually somewhat smaller). The queen is much bigger than the intended space but we are making it work (maneuvering around an RV bed is a pain when the mattress fits: its a game of Twister with a big ol mattress! But its still the firmest, best sleeping mattress for a Mattress in a Box. I wish we could speak to the longevity of the support features but that will have to be an update, later. For now, we wake up and nothing hurts! * One suggestion for the manufacturer: Please label the head/foot on the plastic wrap and IF possible, fold it with the spring side, out. Otherwise, you have to flip it before or after cutting the plastic and at 80+ pounds for the queen size, that's a struggle.. for the king size, that's a hernia! ... show more
