All product reviews should be written in a way that helps potential buyers, not to simply talk about themselves. I've owned this for about 2 weeks now and wanted to share some thoughts. 1. To quickly get this out of the way...I've seen some reviews where people are receiving a completely flat item. I believe those are simply defective and perhaps they were punctured during shipping (I believe this is closed cell foam technology). Mine (queen size) came as it was expected; once I rolled it open it began to expand. 2. I'm a bit mixed on these foam mattress toppers. I'm keeping mine but I've seen some people give satisfaction or dissatisfaction for completely opposite reasons, which makes the buying decision confusing. I have been dealing with a lot of sciatica lately (and I'm still relatively young) and don't want to buy a new mattress right now - so I bought this to FIRM up my overall sleeping experience, and it's worked. Some people say they bought this to SOFTEN their mattress, but I simply don't understand how that would be. I'm not challenging those folks, but perhaps there are many variables such as your actual mattress, etc. But I believe this product is to make your mattress/sleep experience firmer, not softer. Especially if you've been dealing with back issues. 3. Since this has FIRMED up my mattress/sleeping experience, it has been helping with my back pain; I can completely feel a difference after the first night. So if you're buying for that reason, this should (hopefully) work. 4. I wasn't sure if I'd like this "egg crate" style, as opposed to a smooth topper, but don't be afraid...it feels nice, actually. I put this mattress pad underneath a quilted mattress cover (which I was already using). I recommend that's how you use it. Your mattress, then this topper, then a quilted cover, and your fitted sheet. That will "smooth out" the feeling of too many high points due to the egg crate design. Doing it this way will make a more subtle, overall experience. 5. I don't know how long this will last and I completely understand how these foam toppers compress when in use and decompress after, but when I make my bed in the morning I can see the "indent" of my body on my mattress for about 30-45 minutes. I'm single and generally use only half of my bed, so it looks a little silly and strange, but I'm sharing this not so much for the look, but for the overall durability. If this stays compressed for some time after using it, I think it's a reasonable conclusion that over time, this will become permanently flatter and flatter. How long will that take? I have no clue. This was $50 for the queen size, and perhaps more expensive ones will last longer (not sure) but $50 was where my comfort level was. This is helping me and my back, but after all, it's a single piece of blue foam...literally. How much should we pay for a piece of foam as opposed to just buying a new mattress? That's for you to decide, of course. 6. On a more minor level, if you're buying this for "cooling," my experience is that I do feel a bit cooler (although it's winter in the northeast). But again, some people say it cools them and some say it makes their sleep experience hotter (and worse). Maybe another factor of variables for each person...I simply can't say/don't know. Hope this review helps you make your decision.

I love it. It helps me sleep better because I had back surgery a few years ago and the bed I have hurts my back its the purple bed only had for a year the purple block that are in the mattress hurts my back this 2 Inch Swirl Gel Cooling Memory Foam Mattress Topper helps me to not have to buy a new mattress and I can sleep without waking up in pain. would recommend it to anyone. It has just enough memory foam to cover up the purple blocks on the purple mattress and I no longer feel them pressing on my back.

Took it out of packaging and doesn’t really look like the picture after you lay it on your bed but let it sit before putting sheets on for a couple hours too air out and fluff up a little bit, but after putting sheets back on and laying back down on my mattress it provides a lot of support and firmness for my sons bed so I’m happy I purchased this mattress topper for a decent price…

Ok so long story short …. The soon to be husband took the good bed . Lol. So I was stuck with the other bed we had that we used to call “ the brick “ I didn’t want to fight over a bed so I sucked it up and bought a goose down fluffy cover - it was nice but not quite enough. I ordered this and wow ! I have it under my goose down pad and I woke up this morning will little back pain. I received this and it took a day a day to puff up and then I put it on my bed . PLEASE NOTE- First paragraph is about the twin size I ordered January 2023 which got an enthusiastic 5 stars and an update review for exact (supposedly) pad in King February 2023: 1 month ago- "I ordered this to use for 3 weeks at my time share where the king size mattresses have always KILLED my shoulders and hips. Since I only needed it for my side of the bed, I ordered the twin and it was PERFECT! This pad is AMAZING and exactly what I needed to sleep well and enjoy my vacation. I actually got home last night and didn't sleep nearly as well without it, even though I have a similar 3" foam topper already that was more expensive. I guess I will have to buy a king size one for home!" OK- so, update. King pad I ordered for home in much colder weather wasn't ANYTHING like twin size I ordered down south, except for similar packaging-although the SUPER thick plastic outer layer was missing and also the king pad did not have the same wet/moist feel that the twin pad had at unpacking. I unwrapped the packaging and couldn't wait to get it out so it had time to fluff up so I could sleep! It really didn't look good, but figured it was the King in the same box as the Twin and hoped for the best. Five days later, it still looks and feels like a giant potato chip. Did call and get a refund, so will be cutting it up into little beds and donating to local animal shelters.

If you like the egg crate style cell foam, you are in luck. Who cares if it is from a chicken or duck? The gel foam is supposed to help keep warm sleepers cool, but I can't tell too much since it is winter. It is about the least amount of foam you can have without defeating the purpose. It is probably ideal for someone that has back issues and has a firm or extra firm mattress that is looking to just soften the firmness a smidgeon. I found the 2" thickness of other toppers too thick. I am happy with just a thin topper on a firm.
