I'm very happy with this polaroid! I'm a really big fan of photography and cameras and I had been wanting an instant camera for a while. I finally bough this for my birthday to myself. First of all, I had some worries about the quality, I read so many reviews that were not convinced about this camera and I didn't know if I wanted to risk it, so here is what convinced me to buy it. Pros: -No batteries (that I saw were needed in other cameras), this might be something not so bothersome but its 2016 and a camera shouldnt need AA batteries. -Memory Card, you can store your pics, have them on your computer, share them, whatever. I recently used this to take a picture with a foreign friend and was able to give her the picture, knowing that I would have a copy of it. Really cool. -Doesn't look like a toy, I know this might not be an issue for everyone but I am seriously not into any of the designs of the Fuji ones, and believe me, before I made my choice between cameras I saw all of them in person in Urban Outfitters and Best Buy, -Paper can be a little cheaper, its not that big of a difference, but its a plus -Filters, this comes in b&w, regular colors and vintage colors, its cool they come out even more cool (hipster for some people I guess). Also the advantage of being able to have it with or withour border or having the photobooth option. What I was worried about: -Filters, I read some reviews about it coming out wrong, light, etc, I do have to say that color and b&w are perfectly fine, the vintage one is the only one I've had issues with, can't seem to make it work in a way that looks amazing like the other two. - I read about the framing of the picture, how what you see through the eyehole was not what came out in the picture, and its true, but It's not as bad as I read. In reality what gets printed is a cropped version from what you see through the eyehole, so if you're trying to make a lot of people fit into a picture you should try to leave extra space on the sides. -Quality, but as I said before, they come out fine, at least i think so, I had fuji pictures (taken with friends' cameras) and my pictures and they really do seem great to me. Cons: -You need to look up the user guide on the internet, its on the polaroid web page, but everything is there -The lens cover, don't forget to take it off!! - The eyehole/on button is very sensitive and can open at any moment, I bought a case so it wouldn't be a problem anymore. All in all I really thing its a great choice, great price, but I get why people would prefer other cameras. I hope this review was helpful, and sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language. (Pics uploaded were taken by me, one in the vintage filter, the other one in regular colors) ... show more

    • Instant on-the-spot prints... that are also STICKERS!
I grew up loving my Polaroid instant prints. This modern version not only gives you the instant gratification of a print (that we all know and love), but it also peels off and actually doubles as a STICKER! How cool is that! Teenage-me would have loved having one of these instead of taping stuff to the wall. To be fair, the picture quality isn't stellar... in fact, your cell phone might already take better pictures. But the instant gratification of a print is what you are buying here, and that is super cool. That and the fact that the camera itself is also super cool and retro- even the magnetic lens cap, as easy as it is to forget it is on, is very satisfying to "click" back into place. And unlike the Fujifilm instant print cameras, this will also save your pics to a microSD card for later reprints and/or safekeeping in this digital world. If instant gratification is your thing or you just have a nostalgia for old Polaroid concepts, this camera is for you! NOTE: Does not come with film/paper. You'll need that, and/or a Micro SD card. The Polaroid Snap is a fun and compact instant digital camera that prints 2x3-inch photos using ZINK (Zero Ink) technology. It’s easy to use, lightweight, and perfect for casual snapshots or parties. The sticky-back photos make it simple to display your prints on notebooks, walls, or scrapbooks. While the camera delivers decent picture quality, it’s not as sharp as higher-end cameras, especially in low light. Battery life is okay but not exceptional, and it doesn’t have advanced settings for photography enthusiasts. Overall, it’s a fun, user-friendly device for casual instant printing.     • Remarkable and Retro all in a Snap
I didn't get the SNAP to give my kids a history lesson in what we thought was cool when I was in high school, I got it because the battery in my iPhone aka our main "family camera" kept dying on me--and not due to talking or texting but because of pictures and posting as for some reason I've become our family's designated photographer at events and get togethers. So in comparing point and shoot, under $100, "iPhone replacement" cameras, I realized they're pretty much all the same except for the SNAP as its like the Polaroid's of our youth in terms of actually printing instant pictures, but designed to be cool (or is it relevant" to today's youth (thanks to the fact it's digital and aside from printing those instant pictures, can also share em--and do it all without me looking for somewhere to charge my iPhone. So here's the good; it's digital so it doesn't just print but also lets you share pictures. If you think this isn't a big deal as it's 2016 and everything is digital. Take a look at the Fuji Instax which is "old school" non-digital instant, meaning it prints everything you shoot whether you'd like to or not--and does so at twice the cost of a Snap print and doesn't give you any way of sending or sharing those prints with anyone. With the Snap you get the to choose the prints you want as well as how many you want and if you want even add half dozen or so effects to jazz things up. Plus the digital is a pretty respectable 10mp so your images are worth sharing and printing. Here's the bad; Prepare to be very popular--as long as you don't mind giving everyone free prints. Once people see you can instantly print pictures on real picture paper--not inkjet or laser on typical copier-paper, they'll be wanting prints...and more prints. And even though the Snap makes it easy and costs less per print, that doesn't mean you want to subsidize everyone with complimentary pictures. Am I happy with the Snap? Very much so. Great pictures, plenty of options and no worries about draining my iPhone battery--just my wallet until I learn how to say no to everyone who expects free instant prints ... show more

The camera came in today and everything looks and works great so far! I am just very confused because many things on my camera are flipped (mirror image) from what I've seen on the videos and everywhere before buying it: when looking at the back side of the camera, the paper door latch is on the LEFT and the door opens to the right; all the status LED lights are on the upper RIGHT; the SD card slot and micro USB port are on the RIGHT; the printed pictures come out of the LEFT, away from the shutter button. Moreover, the camera does NOT turn on by pressing the pop-up viewfinder but instead by pressing the self-timer button (which is indicated by the on/off icon next to it; the camera is still turned off by closing the viewfinder). Note that all of these features are actually similar to the post-2017 Polaroid Snap Touch (from what I found online), though I swear I have a Polaroid Snap (only). All the buttons (shutter, etc.) on the TOP side of the camera are placed normally. Notice that the images of the camera on this Amazon page are also inconsistent: while the first two images have the printed photo coming out on the side of the shutter button (RIGHT), the fourth image has the print slot on the LEFT, where the rainbow stripes are - suggesting that there are two versions of this camera. Another thing is that before I tried to download and install the official firmware update (Snap_FW_1.7.zip), I looked at the "INFO" file saved on the SD card (after I inserted it, connected the camera to my computer, and turned it on) in "MISC" and it said "[FW] : 2.2.5" (presumably firmware version) and when attempted, the firmware installation (1.7) would not proceed (I never got all 3 LED lights glowing red for 30 seconds, which indicates installation), suggesting that newer version is already installed. All of this makes me think that I got a slightly newer version of Polaroid Snap, but I can't find anything about it online. These design updates would make sense: when you're holding your camera with your right hand, you don't want the newly printed picture coming out on the right. And likely, the pop-up finder was suboptimal as a turn-on button, as it was probably pressed easily in one's pocket. The manual and all the other official materials regarding this camera have not yet been updated (as of 2/26/2019) to reflect this, though. ... show more

    • I Love My Polaroid Snap
I really do love this camera! It is such a simple concept-- 10mb digital camera that also prints 2x3 photos. I love that I can have a physical copy of the photo that I can share or stick into my Moleskine journal for traveling. It also gives me a 10mb digital copy for when I want to post to Facebook or keep digitally forever (or until I accidentally erase it). The camera is a little bit larger than I first thought. Not huge just not exactly bigger than a pack of cards. Almost like the size of a Nintendo 3DS if that helps. It would look a little funny tucking it into my front pants pocket. But I can easily keep it in my jacket pocket like I did yesterday when I took it skiing. The pictures print out in 35-45 seconds. The pictures are nice and glossy. Are they as good as going to a professional developer? Not quite, but for my purposes, they did the job. Does this camera have the insane quality of a Leica or any other mirrorless DSLR? No and it's not trying to be. Is the Polaroid Snap fun, retro, and shareable? Absolutely and it excels at it. The technology that they use is really slick and it's certainly a big upgrade from the old days of Polaroid. The camera doesn't come with a pack of film. But you can buy a 30 pack for $14.99 which comes out generally as 50 cents a picture. I showed my Polaroid Snap off to my friends and they all wanted to buy one too. If you're someone who loves taking pictures but also wants an instant copy to share with someone or put in your journal, I think the Polaroid Snap does the job well. I've really enjoyed having this as a second camera to capture the fun moments-- the picture behind the picture. This camera will be going on all my trips this year.     • Waste of money: poor quality and horrible alignment
I purchased this instant digital camera with fairly low expectations. I just wanted something that would give me decent but not great instant photos of my young son doing the small daily things that are so important to record as a baby grows. This camera, however, produces VERY poor quality images, no matter what the ambient light level and no mattter what settings are used. The printed pictures are either way to bright or are unfocused. But the thing that makes this purchase a true waste of money is that the pop-up view finder does not represent the image that is captured by the camera. Centering a person’s head and shoulders in the viewfinder, for example, results in a photo of that person’s torso and upper legs. As a result, the user is forced to play a guessing game and “offset” the image in the viewfinder in a blind attempt to capture the desired image (i.e. aim above the person’s head in an attempt to get an actual picture of their face). I would return this item but, in an effort to troubleshoot these issues, I have exceeded my return window. So I am left with what essentially amounts to a digital paperweight. I wish I had never purchased this camera and am extremely disappointed in the declining quality of Polaroid’s products. ... show more

    • Cute with some quirks...
I've only had this camera for a day, but there're definitely some things I wish I had looked into before purchasing. First: the flash doesn't always go off. And there's no way to turn it on/off. I took a picture next to a lamp - no flash. I moved about three feet away and the flash went off. I ended up with a photo with a lit background and two dark figures. That was unfortunate... Second: for some reason, this camera would NOT take photos outside at night. I tried several times. I thought it was malfunctioning or breaking! And this was only after TWO photos. But I took it inside (and took the lamp/distant lamp photos then) and found the camera was working fine. Third (connected to the flash problem): sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the photo is going to print or not. When I took it outside at night, it made an obvious clicking noise as though it were going to print. Nothing. I took it inside and got no flash so, assuming the picture wasn't printing, began adjusting the camera. Then I heard the printer start going... I got a blurry selfie. Fourth: there's a firmware update, and I need a microSD to get it! I plan on only using this camera for instant photos (even if the photos don't come out perfect - the mistakes and terrible shots get to be part of the fun and memories), but I imagine I'll want the firmware update to avoid any other problems, so I may just purchase it. Those are my qualms. Overall, it is SUCH a cute camera. I should also mention (to my surprise), the camera doesn't come with instructions. It was just packaging with info, e.g. instant photos, etc. printed on it. Not difficult at all to figure it out, though, considering there are only four buttons. I like the magnetic lens cover. It comes with a wrist strap, too. I can't attest to how the photos actually look when you don't print them and look at them on the computer or something, but the printed photos are all right. A sibling has the Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic, and I think her photos come out better. The color is nice and a bit more vibrant. I've tried only two out of three of the color settings on the Polaroid Snap, and even the one with full color comes out a bit dull. I am satisfied with my purchase and do enjoy the camera. Edited: after about a week with this camera and both perusing reviews for other instant cameras and seeing them in action, this one just doesn't seem worth the buy. The best thing about it is probably its cute physical aesthetic, but performance-wise, it is disappointing. ... show more
