  • Excellent alternative to CO2 based inflators for a motorcycle
Color: Black-orange
I'm in the process of assembling a small but fairly comprehensive motorcycle tool kit. I carry mine in a backpack so it doesn't have to be super-compact, but I don't want to lug around a bunch of bulky stuff, either. I'm looking for a good balance of minimalism and usability. I looked at several different ways to address tire punctures since you can't very well carry a spare on the motorcycle (well, I'm sure SOMEONE does, but I won't). I ultimately decided on some "bacon strip" tire plugs (which I've been using for years and am quite familiar with) and a tiny compressor. I could have purchased one of the inexpensive CO2 cartridge inflators. They're very compact and light, but once you're out of CO2, you're DONE until you get more. If I have a slow leak and have to cover a lot of miles, it's conceivable that I won't have enough cartridges to get me home, and if I have to pump a completely flat tire up, I suspect I'd need a half dozen cartridges. Not an insurmountable problem but I want a wider safety margin. This was one of the most compact inflators that I could find with good reviews. It's quite small and light, and it doesn't take up much room in my motorcycling backpack. It has an auto-shutoff feature that fills a tire to the preset pressure. I tried this on one of my bikes and it works perfectly, cutting off at exactly the right pressure (34 PSI in this case). It also doubles as a tire gauge and gives you a readout of current tire pressure, though I carry a spare mechanical gauge in my bag. The only challenge to overcome is how to get power to it. My motorcycle doesn't have a cigarette lighter plug, which is what the inflator requires. In my case there are 2 ways to solve this: Modify the power cord to use an SAE plug (which my bike DOES have), or get an adapter. I chose to get an adapter. I like SAE plugs for quick connections on a bike, but because they're hermaphroditic you can't always be sure the polarity is correct. It would be on my bike (I'd make sure of it), but if someone else wants to use my inflator, all bets are off. At best, the inflator won't work. At worst, reverse polarity will cook something in the inflator's circuitry. I'm not about to start testing it for reverse-polarity protection (someone with more time and ambition can do that) so I dug up an old adapter that I have. One end has a cigarette lighter socket, the other terminates in pair of alligator clips that will clamp onto battery terminals. The whole thing takes up very little room and fits in the bag that the inflator comes with so it's not at all inconvenient to carry. This allows me to use the inflator with any vehicle that has a cigarette lighter socket (IE most cars), any vehicle with accessible battery terminals (my bike plus many others), or even something like a standalone 12V battery or power source. Very versatile with almost no weight penalty. I waited until I'd actually used it to post a review. One of the tires on my bike has a very slow leak (around the bead, I'd guess) so I'm always topping it up before a ride. I set the inflator to 34 PSI, clipped on the hose, and let it rip. It inflated the tire from 30 to 34 PSI in a short time, less than a minute I'd say. I don't expect it to win any awards for speed, but a slow inflator is way better than none at all. I'm very pleasantly surprised by such an inexpensive inflator, to the point that I'm considering one for my car, my truck, and as gifts for family and friends. It's earned a permanent spot in my motorcycle tool kit for sure. ... show more

  • A must have vehicle accessory
Color: Black-orange
I am a huge fan of this air compressor and am very glad I bought it! it looks great and has a nice, legible display with multiple different units besides psi. Yes got several dkffeeent hoses and needles so you can inflate or blow up literally anything that’d require an air compressor. It also has a great feature where you can set it to whatever psi you want your tire at and it’ll automatically cut off once it reaches that psi (it constantly reads the pressure of the tire every few seconds to ensure it’s not over inflated and to make sure it stops once it reaches your desired pressure) so you don’t have to stand there holding it on your tire and checking it every few seconds manually to make sure you fill it to the right pressure; it does everything for you. It takes me about 2-4 minutes to fill my tire from 4psi to 39psi, so it works really quickly as well. And it doesn’t slow down after running for a bit; it takes same 2-4 mins on my fourth tire as it did my first when filling all of them up. It’s also powered by a normal 12v outlet in your car, so you’re always able to use it no matter what, unlike rechargeable ones where you have to be lucky enough to have it charged if you ever get a flat while on the go/not at home and need to inflate it, which was the main thing I looked for in a compressor, because I wanted this to remain in my car for any emergency reasons. The cord is also long enough to reach every tire no matter where you’re plugged in from. It also comes with a nifty bag to hold each hose/needle/power cord/compressor itself/etc. which makes it super convenient for keeping it stored in your car like me. This one’s also significantly cheaper than other similar models that look the same and have the same functions. And I’ve had this for about nine months and use it frequently and it’s great. I’m so pleased with my purchase. Definitely suggest this model, as the store I used to fill up tires at cost $2.75 for 3 minutes of air use, which is insane. That alone has paid for this compressor many times over, and the peace of mind I have with having an air compressor in my car at all times is nice too! ... show more

  • Works well but gets 🔥 hot!
Color: Black-orange
The media could not be loaded. The pump works great and I was able to air up 33 psi to 37 psi each on 4 tires on my GMC 1500. Pros 1. Airs up tires fairly fast 2. Easy to operate 3. Price was fair at $25.00 I wouldn't pay more for it though because it's not battery operate. Cons 1. Very loud 2. Gets pretty hot see video. 3. Cord is to short to reach rear tires on a GMC 1500 with the 6ft 8 inch bed. I used the secondary lighter plug in the back seat area. 4. Not battery operated so limited on usage without a car. 5. As instructed turn your car on because this pump uses a lot of 🔋 power and will drain your car battery down! Conclusion I recommend for as your back up it would be fantastic if it had battery as a secondary power source for those times you want to use it away from your vehicle ie camping or at the pool etc. ... show more

  • Great Quality, Thoughtfully Designed, and Nice Features
Color: Black-orange
This portable tire inflator works very well and is great quality for the price! It's designed very sleek and compact, which is nice to not take up much space in your car. The controls are easy to understand and the screen is nice and bright. I had to adjust tire pressure in the dark, and it was nice to have the LED light. The valve is also very nice because when you are done and release the clamp, the pressure doesn't leak out of the valve/nozzle, like many other inflators. Impressed! ... show more
