I ordered this for my husband for his kayaking lifejacket. Almost immediately after we ordered them he tested it in the water to see how good of a lifejacket it is. It does indeed float pretty well, but it tilts you forward into the water so that you float on your face. So it's fine in you are conscious, but if were unconscious this would not save you. I am very pleased with this impact vest. I have not tested the boyancy, but am sure it is fine. Used it today for wing surfing. I believe it will go a good job protecting my from my foil in a spill. As with many vests, it does run small. I am 5'7", 208# and usually take an x large t-shirt/sweatshirt. I ordered an XXL and it fits, but does not have any extra. It is comfortable and a GREAT value. Too bad I spent a lot more money on the next size down with another company last year. Has the tags still. I will be selling it and getting an XL in this as well! Great value. ... show more

Very nice vest at this price point, I was surprised. I purchased all 3 sizes over time because they run quite small. I wear a large in all clothing, jackets etc., but the large was way too small, teen size. The XL almost fits, and the XXL just fits. I'm keeping all of them since they will fit my grandkids.
