Life safety is so important on the water. It’s difficult but necessary for little ones. I needed a life jacket for a 6 week old, 11 pound baby. Most lifejackets that are listed 0 to 20 or 0 to 30 pounds are way too big for an infant. While this looks huge on him, it actually fits, and you can tell by the picture of the back of my grandson that it is secure on him even though from the front it looks gigantic. The pictures are slightly deceiving, it didn’t look quite as big as the photos make it look. The support on the back of the head keeps the baby’s head afloat. This sweet baby boy did not fuss in this life vest, we were lucky. I think this vest will fit him for close to a year before we switch to a small vest style. Highly recommend for small babies. This is a true infant life jacket approved by the USCG. UPDATE: I definitely recommend this "style" for infants. I will keep updating on how long this style fits a baby. We live in Florida and use our boat year round. I am posting this late September 2025 and the baby is 6 weeks old. There are a few styles available which are similar to this one, but this one was the most affordable (gender neutral) and looked very similar to the $60 vests. I bought this for my 8 month old grandson. I was worried it would be too bulky and he would be uncomfortable but he didn’t mind having it on and even fell asleep leaned back on me riding down the lake. We have only used it once but it was a successful day so I call it a win. We have the orange one.

Bought the life vest based on video reviews. We were very pleased with fit and functionality as an approved life vest for lake use. It worked great for about two weeks. We have several dozen life vests of various sizes and I have never had one get so moldy so quickly. This makes it useless for an infant now unless I bleach the heck out of it. I am afraid that will cause the vest to deteriorate making it ineffective as a life preserver. Such a shame ... show more
