  • Great value!
As far as entry-level full-size keyboards go, this one ranks among the best. It'd be difficult to find something better for under $200. That being said, if playing music is more than just a hobby, you should probably spend more money for something better, but most other people will be happy with this keyboard. The semi-weighted keys almost feel like actual piano keys, but you can still tell that they're lighter. They're very similar to M-Audio's Keystation keyboards. The speakers are much better than I was expecting for the price; they're on par with mid-range TV sound bars and desktop computer speakers. MIDI over USB functions as expected, but there is no USB cable included. You'll need a USB-B cable (sometimes called a "USB printer cable"). My biggest complaint is that the keyboard won't save the volume level between uses. The default volume level is 55 (out of 64), which is the volume level whenever you turn the keyboard on (regardless of whatever you last set it at), and is about as loud as a real upright piano. If you're using headphones, this is just too loud! It's like having your head inside a piano. In order to avoid hearing damage, I highly suggest that you turn it down. It would also be better if the Zeny keyboard had more analogue controls (which can be read at a glance), like Keystation keyboards have. But considering Zeny's keyboard costs about 25% less, I think it's a fair tradeoff. ... show more

  • One year in and a few keys are losing sound
This keyboard is pretty good for the money. Pedal included, weighted keys, full spread, HDMI Jack. Initially I would have given 4 stars, but a few of the black keys have started becoming less responsive as time goes on, and it’s starting to become a problem. The sound sounds a little plastic, but much better if you use headphones while you play. It’s not professional standard, but good if you’re an adult and learning. EDIT: A few weeks after I wrote this review I unscrewed the back and vacuumed everything out - now it works just fine! ... show more

  • An affordable keyboard suitable for young beginners
This is the first "piano" for my kids (both less than 7), it was a Christmas present, and they loved it. I don't have another keyboard to compare to, but I do have my memories of what a real piano is like from my own childhood playing on a baby grand. Comparing this to a real piano is kind of unfair. But, I don't have anything else to go on. What it does do well: * Sounds like the tones were sampled from a real piano, and it is mostly in tune * Hitting the keys harder yields louder tones * There is resistance when depressing the keys * It is full-sized * You can limit the maximum volume! * There is a built-in metronome! However, it doesn't really feel like a real piano at all. * The resistance is achieved with springs, and you can hear them as you press a key * The resistance feels uniform on all keys * There is no real attempt to simulate the tactile feel of causing the hammer to swing, and the feel of it hitting the string * The keys feel a bit too plastic for my own taste There are some strange quirks to the piano sounds when medium strength is applied. Kind of like a strange echo that is a little off key. I think real upright pianos actually might sound like that, but I cannot be sure. I am sure the GHS weighted keys on a Yamaha would be something that would make me believe it was a real piano (since I am not a professional musician), but I would have spent at least 3 times as much on the piano, if not more. This is a great way to see if my kids have interest in the instrument, and I will invest more if the interest seems to become more serious. ... show more

  • Does the job, mainly useful for beginners
Only get this if you're a beginner that really wants to practice on a full keyboard on a VERY LOW BUDGET. This is decent for beginners. The key quality doesn't FEEL the best (feels like sticky plastic, not really that smooth) but honestly for how low the price is for a full weighted keyboard, it's expected. It has a nice design but since it's wooden it's pretty heavy. The sensitivity feels kind of weird. Either the sound is too light or too loud. I got this as a second keyboard for my bedroom but I returned it bc of the weird sensitivity. ... show more

  • Serves the purpose
Arrived damaged, but still worked. Edited to add: Addnl paint strips peeling within 1 week. I also purchased the recommended stand, but the holes in the bottom of the piano were too big for the screws that come with the stand. I ended up purchasing M6 x20mm screws that worked just fine.

  • 16 of the keys do not work, right out of the box!
I couldn't submit this review without marking at least 1 star. I would give it 0 stars. At first everything seemed fine. The product arrived on time, was packaged well, no visible damage. All parts included as advertised. But once I plugged it in and turned on the power button, 16 of the keys did not work at all. I marked them with painter's tape. There was no phone number or email address provided in the manual that came with the keyboard, so I couldn't try contacting the manufacturer for Customer Support. I had no choice but to return it. Now apparently I'll have to pay the shipping to return it too! Very disappointing!!! UPDATE: The seller was at least very good about issuing a prompt refund. I had to contact Amazon first, regarding how to return the item, and they had the seller contact me. ... show more

  • Okay for beginners
Definitely a beginner keyboard. I was a little overwhelmed when I received this item, it is huge and heavy! You definitely need a stand for it. The settings/features are very confusing to use and I feel like sometimes they don't work. I will press a number to switch the instrument sounds and it doesn't change, and sometimes when I press the volume down button it goes up. Also, you can hear the black keys being pressed almost like plastic taping. Not sure if this is normal but it's really annoying. I guess for the price it is good but if you're looking for a better quality instrument you'll probably want to spend more money. ... show more
