Sturdy and able to adjust to 3 different heights. The extra steps can nest under the step, but beware, if they are not in right it can make the step dangerous! I prefer to just leave them off after a couple close calls. However if you’re new to working out, just know that the “lowest” height is not that low. I bought this to use in the gym in my building. It does the job but not the greatest quality. The attachments feel cheap and often fall off when I carry the step, but it stays together pretty well when I use it for lunges, etc. Contemplated returning it, but decided to keep it since it does the job well enough.
