The media could not be loaded. For people like myself who have never owned an umbrella like this before, here's how to operate: Use the button on the handlr to open close it. After undoing the velco, pushing the button on the handle makes the umbrella open fully (it can be a bit startling btw). Pushing the button again will only collapse the canopy, but not the rod. If you try pushing the button a third time, the canopy will not reopen (nothing will happen). At this point, you must push down the rod to collapse the umbrella entirely (basically back to its beginning position). Once its back in its original completely closed position, you can then push the button to fully open again. When it opens all the way from the starting position, the one I received is quite startling in my opinion. It happens quick and a bit noisey. I do worry that it will break itself bc it opens so quick. Hopefully that wont happen, I imagine being designed this way that they would have made it quite resist to breaking itself. Although it did come with a card that says theres a warranty but, I've never known if that extends to vine voice reviewers or not. So far, so good though. Once I learned what you have to do, it seems to be operating properly without issue. The material of the canopy is that of any other umbrella and being compact it just has a shorter rod than your traditional umbrellas and they offer multiple colors to choose from. They also include a sleeve to put the umbrella back into when not in use but it is a little finicky. Overall seems like a good quality umbrella and its nice to have one that its the usual long version that takes up space. However, at the time of posting this review, the price has dropped from the $20 it was when I got it, to $7.

We don’t get much rain here in Southern California, so it’s nice to have an umbrella handy in the car or purse. While it’s not quite as compact as my last travel umbrella, it still folds down small enough to carry without being a hassle. The automatic open/close button is really convenient, especially when my hands are full. The canopy is wide enough for good coverage, and the reinforced ribs give it some sturdiness against wind. It’s a practical, dependable option for those rare rainy days.

This is a good light duty umbrella. To be honest, the entire reason I got it was because it's rainbow. I already have a rainbow umbrella but it's full size, which isn't as convenient to carry around. This unfortunately isn't as compact as my compact mini umbrella I can stick in a coat pocket but unlike my compact umbrella, this has a handle that's sturdier and easy to hold. I wouldn't use this in heavy rain, though. It's vented at the top and any heavy rain will get in there, especially if the umbrella is held at an angle or there's wind blowing the rain at an angle. The other issue with the vents is it makes the tops difficult to fold neatly which makes it harder to fit it into the sleeve, which is a minor complaint. Less minor is I've had vented umbrellas where the vents got creased the wrong way and made it easier for rain to blow into them. Again, this is better as a light duty umbrella, for going between buildings or crossing a parking lot. The good thing about the vents is if there is a lot of wind, this umbrella is less likely to be ripped out of your hand and fly across the parking lot. Again, as a light duty semi-compact umbrella, this is pretty good and I'll be keeping it in the car for regular use.

Nice Umbrella. Opens to 38' inches tip to tip span not 42' as pictured in ad. Wind blows it further mushroom unfolding might get to 42". Plenty of room to avoid rain for 2 or maybe 3 to get under if grouping together isnt a issue. 1 button controls the up and down function. Sturdy good button is located on a nice textured looking handle.. Umbrella has a storage nylon sock type case and a sewn velcro tie wrap to circle around folded panels and pull frame fabric in for safety and storage..spring is strong..press button and umbrella immediately pops open. Press button again and umbrella frame panels fold up quick. Telescopic pole is still extended and to compress (spring) pushing top of imbrella pad towards handle will click lock it compressed ready to open again... Spring takes some effort to compress and I thought this could punch somebody when opened. Wont open if frame is tied down (velcro) or in case. Frame linkage and fabric are well done.. Held up to a light the only flaw I found were 2 sewing machine type holes in line and at the end of the velcro strap stitching like the machine ran out of thread. All in all Well Made, Good price and Looks Good. Great to store and have in a vehicle door etc.. when mother nature decides to pull the water plug and monsoon on you.
