I started a few pellets in a bowl of warm water and they immediately started to expand. I squished them around a bit to break up the peat in the bag and put back in the water to finish absorbing as I worked on placing seeds in already prepared pellets. This system worked well and ensured each pellet was well saturated. The baggies are closed but there is a perforated area to easily pull open or snip with scissors in order to access the starter peat to plant the seeds. It's recommended for 1 seed per pellet, but I planted a few per pellet in case some done germinate and will just thin as needed, and the 30mm size is pretty great for the majority of my seeds. The larger seeds probably could have been better suited for the 36mm pellets, but I didn't have those so I'll just transplant a little sooner into a larger pot for those seedlings. I had several seedlings emerging after 3 days: lettuce, broccoli, and cucumbers so far. I've utilized the peat pellets, mini greenhouses (both purchased and re-imagined sources), a seedling heat pad and a west facing window (the only area in my house with enough room and enough sunlight for my seedlings). I can't speak to the nutrients provided to my seedlings or what their hardiness is going to be yet, but so far, the seedlings that are emerging look good and started quicker than planned so that's a positive in my book. I didn't expect the little garden tools, because honestly I just wanted to pellets and didn't pay attention to the extras, but they were actually handy to be able to indent the pellets to drop seeds in. So, added bonus there. I read a few reviews that several of the pellets had fallen apart during shipping and were just peat mess in the box, but this was not the case for my order of 200. Each one was in tact and expanded as expected. However, also as expected, was that the inside of the box was dusty with peat dust but we're dealing with compressed 'dirt', it's bound to get a little dusty. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase and working of these pellets so far. I intend to purchase more for my next round of seedlings as long a good remainder of my seeds emerge within their germination time frame.

I’m trying to find a suitable way to grow cat grass, and so far kits have been unsuccessful, and peat pellets are not always in local stores. I’ve removed the outside covering and soaked the product before planting good cat grass seed. Two or three pellets are enough, so I’m hoping they’ll get me through several months of replanting. Time will tell.

Super-easy to use, especially with grow-pots. My cucumber and tomato plants worked best and are growing so quickly! I’ll definitely use this product again.

I have used a very similar product before and it was great! I just got these yesterday. Everything is there that is advertised! I will update my review once I’ve used them if they are not absolutely great just like the last ones that I used which were a different brand!!!

The media could not be loaded. I planted 80 seeds in these and only had 10 sprout. They are so small, pretty flimsy, and swell up rounded. You would need to transplant very soon after germination. I think you would have better luck if you bought the container these pellets fit in. I used a seedling heat mat. I probably over watered as I had a hard time keeping them moist but not saturated. For me I've had better luck reusing disposable plastic containers.

I recently delved into the gardening world with high hopes using ZeeDix 200 Pcs 30mm Peat Pellets, complete with promises of easy transplanting and a bountiful harvest. Unfortunately, this gardening venture turned out to be a planting nightmare, leaving me dissatisfied with the compressed peat nutrient seed pods and their accompanying accessories. This kit, which includes 200 plant labels and 2 garden tools, fell short of expectations due to several glaring drawbacks. 🌱🚫🪴 The peat pellets proved to be more hassle than help. It's like expecting convenient planting and getting a messy ordeal instead. The pellets did not expand uniformly, leading to a chaotic planting process. Instead of easy transplanting, it felt like I was wrestling with unruly peat pods. It's more of a planting nightmare than a smooth gardening experience. 🌱🤯🚜 The promised nutrient boost from the compressed peat was dubious. It's like expecting a flourishing garden and getting nutrient skepticism instead. Despite claims of nutrient-rich peat, the plants did not show the expected vigor. Instead of robust seedlings, it felt like I was dealing with undernourished plants. It's more of a nutrient letdown than a thriving garden dream. 🌱🍃❌ The inclusion of 200 plant labels was a cluttered affair. It's like expecting organized labeling and getting a label avalanche instead. The sheer quantity of labels became overwhelming and impractical for a home garden. Instead of a helpful labeling system, it felt like I was drowning in unnecessary plant markers. It's more of a label excess than an organized garden aid. 🏷️🌱📦 The garden tools provided were underwhelming. It's like expecting reliable implements and getting flimsy frustration instead. The tools lacked durability and did not withstand basic gardening tasks. Instead of sturdy aides, it felt like I was handling disposable equipment. It's more of a tool disappointment than a reliable gardening support. 🚜🛠️👎 In conclusion, ZeeDix 200 Pcs 30mm Peat Pellets failed to deliver on its promises, turning my gardening aspirations into a planting nightmare. If you're seeking a seed starter kit that truly simplifies the planting process and fosters healthy seedlings, I recommend exploring other options. This kit is more likely to leave you with messy transplanting, nutrient skepticism, label excess, and flimsy tools in your gardening endeavors. 🪴🌱👎

I was skeptical about using these at first. I've always used small peat pots and not that satisfactorily. I decided to try these and they were great. My seeds germinated quickly and were easily transplanted into a larger pot. No muss, no fuss . I'll probably never use peat pots again
