Not as sturdy as the 888 but then again I'm not shark fishing. This is attached to my bow with spiderwire as my line. It's works great and doesn't feel like the reel is under any stress even when reeling in monster gar with the bow.

this is a very strong reel, however this is an all metal reel. it is very heavy and is made for heavy rods and heavy line. way to heavy for kids. you need a strong arm to use this reel and whatever rod you use combo.
