Outstanding rods and reels, especially for the price. Our grandkids love them. My first reel, 60 years ago was a Zebco 202. You just can’t beat the quality that this company refuses to compromise on. I was not compensated in any way for this review.

    • Even preschoolers can start fishing quickly!
My granddaughters (2 & 4 at the time) love these! They're the kind that I fished with as a kid, too. They're easy to set up and use, and both were casting lures with about 15 minutes of training at our campsite. No tangles, no problems!

    • Great to start, or teach kids. Just dont try a strong cast with these reels.
This is a great package deal if you and your spouse want to try to fish for the first time. Both poles and reels work for beginners. Other than being a bit bigger and having two handles, there is no difference between the 404 and the 202. Once you get better at casting though, you will want to get new reels, as both of these lock up when trying to cast with any kind of force. We've lost quite a bit of bait trying to cast to far away spots. For kids though, you can't really go wrong. ... show more
