The first thing I noticed with this polywire was it is very very strong and can handle pulling really tight. It bends and flexes very easily and does not just break you have to cut it. Only problem with this product is that if any plant material is on it for any Amount of time it doesn't hurt the plant but eats through the product so check your line regularly because it will break in half other than that easy to install and works well. I had to use it to keep my huge shepherd in the yard. Added it to my existing chain link fence that took him 2 seconds to climb out when he decided to go play with all the neighbor dogs . This stuff pretty much defies reason. It looks like a thin rope or twine, and the bright color makes it easy to see. But don't be fooled, this thing will carry the juice for the whole length of the roll. Appears to be about 10-11 gauge. Smaller than I thought it would be. Definitely will not withstand 100lbs of weight pushing against it - my electric went down and one of the goats figured it out and broke a strand. But, it does deliver a shock (which is only as good as your energizer).

This was the perfect solution for a small area of our yard that we needed to keep the dogs from their daily digging. We purchased the havahart wired fence but I did not like the wire that came with the kit so I replaced it with this wire and it looks much nicer and maintains its shape. The dogs have not entered this section of our yard since this wire was installed. My handyman had me test it after it was installed and it works as it should. (Ouch!) ... show more
