I ordered a top-rated portable AC that did not fit my window, despite the fact that the description said it would. Amazon was nice about returning it, but I didn't want to have that problem twice. So I chose the Zafro because of the videos showing that it fit all window sizes. Now I am very happy that I ended up with this one. It is smaller than the first one, it has more power--16,000 vs 14,000, and it was less expensive. The part that goes in the window is also far less high (only 7.5") so you lose less of your window. It was super easy to set up, it is very quiet--far less noisy than the window air conditioner in my bedroom, and it cools the large (600 sq.ft/ 9ft ceilings) living area in my hot, top-floor NYC apartment. Another thing that I love is that, unlike the window air conditioner in my bedroom, this one reduces the humidity. The window installation is so easy that I put it in and out depending on the weather. At this point, I can't speak to this AC's longevity, but I am super happy with it.

Mechanically this thing is powerful and efficient, but the control system sucks. Seems to have a mind of its own, and is as if it’s designed to interrupt sleep. It incorrectly senses its own temperature, leading to erratic performance. It only really consistently cools in “boost mode”. Even then, it will only “boost” until it thinks the room is 61 degrees, when it is often far from that. In any of the thermostatic controlled modes, the room temperature sensor constantly thinks it’s way colder than it is, I’ve even put a secondary thermometer right next to the sensor to confirm that it is reading incorrectly. So basically it cools like crazy until it thinks it’s done, when it definitely is not done. This leads to it kicking off in the middle of the night and us waking up hot at 1am, and then a weird silent fight begins with the thing to try to get through the night. Additionally, it ignores the manual fan speed settings, causing the fans to turn off. I want a fan running 100% of the time cooling or not for noise and fresh air. Average night goes like this: when it wrongly thinks it’s done cooling, and the fans turn off and it goes idle at like midnight, waking us up, then it gets hot in the room by around 1am, waking us up, I mess with the unit and the remote for a few minutes to trick it into cooling again, at 2am it turns off again, waking us up, and at 3am it will briefly blast at full speed for like 5 seconds and then wind down, waking us up. This cycle continues all night.

The media could not be loaded. Pros: This portable AC is impressively quiet and highly effective at cooling. Its sleek, modern design stands out from other models, and installation was quick and hassle-free. Cons: Communication with the seller has been frustrating. I asked if it was possible to purchase an additional set of window sliding kits, but they misunderstood my question and repeatedly said that one was already included—ignoring the actual request. This raises concerns about future support should the unit develop any issues. Additionally, no user manual was included in the box. While the mobile app initially worked well, it failed to connect the second time I tried, making it unreliable so far.

This unit replaced a 10K BTU window unit that I had to install and remove each year. I have a finished room over my garage that is poorly insulated due to design and needs help cooling when the temperature exceeds 85°F. The window unit barely kept up, but this unit has plenty of cooling power and is much easier to install and remove. It is also much quieter. I am also happy that I can control it from a phone app and set a cooling schedule. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I've been using this for a few days now. So far it's been great. I keep it on my bedroom and it easily cools it down. I run it at 70 which feels amazing in 95° plus weather outside. Had no problems keeping me cool in the triple digit heatwave the other day. I do pair it with with a ceiling fan and a tower fan pretty much on top of me as I sleep because I need air hitting me or I sweat in my sleep. But it does cool the room down fine. I have a 20x20 bedroom. Its fairly quiet, easy to setup, easy controls. There's sleep timers, temp settings, fan only mode, dehumidifier, and AC.

Overall it’s a decent unit, I do like the compact size, and efficiency for its output. The fact it throttles down but runs continuously means less noise and more consistent sound levels as well as consistent temperature. The app for the unit is HORRIBLE, it doesn’t seem to correctly follow the schedule I set at all. The LED light is insanely bright in a dark room (it can be disabled with the remote). It does cool our room well in the Las Vegas heat which is impressive, and it is decently silent for its ability. It seems to be EXTREMELY power efficient which was my main concern. Like all these portable units I’ve ever seen, the window adapter is flimsy, leaky, and just overall meh so I built my own by routering holes in a piece of wood and putting that in the window instead.
