Despite the bold box claim that owning this toaster would make life simple, I have found no change in my life at all other than expectedly being able to make toast. I prepped the machine by turning it on "with no cakes or pastries inside" per the instructions to burn off any chemically caused smells. I haven't put any cakes or pastries in there since. And I have a half a birthday cake in the fridge so don't think I couldn't have. I could not have been more cooperative with this thing. My cat didn't come back to life. My water doesn't heat any faster. My clothes are still damp in the dryer after 45 minutes and nobody offered me money or asked me out on a date when I went to the laundry room to check. I didn't even get a call from work saying I didn't have to go in tomorrow. Despite its eerie red glow, there appears to be no magic in this toaster at all. It was quite a promise to make for $19 and I should have expected this, but still. On the flip side, it's definitely prettier than most toasters at this price, heats up quickly, the bagel function is a nice touch, and I can in fact make lots of toast at any time with no notice. In fact I can make so much toast so fast that I'm bringing a duffle bag full of it down to the community center right now to feed all the neighbors. ... show more

It was a great toaster for 8 months. Used once every day. But now only one side toasts the bread and the other side is running very hot so the toast gets burned. This toaster was well cared for, the crumbs emptied out and the outside wiped down every week. Sad to say it didn’t last as long as expected. ... show more
