I don't really deep fry food anymore. But there have been occasions that I wanted to, but didn't because I didn't want to fill a pot with oil. So, I air fry it instead, and it's never as good. This pot is the perfect size. I leave it on the counter and out of the way. Use it as needed. The temperature gauge seems accurate. I love the grate on the lid that drains the oil. And because of it's size, it heats up quickly and retains the heat even after adding items to fry. Great value and so effective! ... show more

    • Run Far Far Away!
I purchased this "frying pot" for the sole purpose of frying seafood (calamari and fish nuggets) nothing too big or too extravagant. When I received the frying pot, I didn't really handle it/assemble it right away. I waited a few days and then I unboxed it and upon inspection, I felt a small dent on the side. However, it was the day of my food event and I didn't have a solid plan B, so I forged on. I assembled the top and tried to position the thermometer, however I didn't have much luck with that. Sigh I added my oil and proceeded to wait until the thermometer read between 160 and 180 (which never quite made it). But I was on a schedule so I forged ahead. Listen...frying just a small amount of calamari took FOREVER, and it was the absolute worst experience in the kitchen I've had in a long time. Needless to say, it's going back expediently! Not sure if I just got a bad one. Felt cheaper then I thought it would. Thermostat did not stay in place unless I wedged it between the lid and frame. The thermostat being in Celsius want that big of an issue but helped me lean towards returning it.
