1.5 years later update: Everything said previously still applies. Still very happy with the shades, and they are certainly a talking point when we have guests; everyone loves them! We've now had time with the shades to assess other aspects. Most importantly battery life. They batteries hold charge long enough with frequent use to not be a bother when needing to be charged. I have counted the times they've needed to be charged since we've had them, but I'd say they hold roughly 3-5 months of charge before needing to be charged. We've also refined the interaction between the various devices connectivity. A solid router is a must have; we replaced ours and added a mesh network to make it all the more seamless. There is only the rare times that a shade won't open or close when told to do so by a Google routine. Part of it was also making sure to properly name the curtains so as not to confuse the Google into thinking you're doing something other than opening or closing the shades. The Broadlink device is integral to the whole process, but once set up, can essentially be ignored if everything is controlled by routines or voice commands. However, that doesn't detract from the fact that the Broadlink app also has full control and can set routines for the shades; user preference rules the day here. Still 100% satisfied! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Installing into the window frame was simple with the provided equipment, and there was ample parts for inside mount. All of the shades were already connected to the remote, and labeled as well as configured to exact measurements to fit the window both horizontally and vertically. All of the batteries had at least some charge for installation and were easily attached and detached which will come in handy when the batteries run out. The motor may feel slow or loud to some, but it really isn't noticeable after a few uses and is actually reassuring to know that they are working as intended. I can use the remote from one end of my home and the shade on the other end of the house is still controllable. The shades look great. We have honeycomb, white, 50% for several in our main area. They supply complete privacy while allowing that 50% as intended. For bedrooms, we have honeycomb, white, blackout. We have a 4 year old son that still naps from time to time, and an infant daughter that naps throughout the day, and I work nights often and sleep during the day, so a proper fit and true blackout shades are a must! These did not fail to deliver. It's as dark during the day as it is at night. There is the tiniest of gaps with the inside mount on the top between the hardware and the frame, and the sides so that the plastic caps and the fabric don't rub the frame. I believe Yoolax has parts that can cover these areas, but we intend to put decorative drapes in at some point that will cover the gaps. The instructions to use the remote are simple and work as intended. Very easy to add and remove shades, or reset positions as well as add a new stop position. It was also easy to connect to the BroadLink App and device hub for Google home compatibility. Support through BroadLink for setup was very helpful. After that, it becomes intuitive to ask Google to open and close any number of shades, and setting up groups or routines through Google works seamless with the shades. Yoolax as a company has been excellent to work with in getting the shades just right. Through some error, we received some wrong shades. Yoolax was easy to contact through Amazon, and worked very diligently with me to get the order right. They immediately shipped us new ones that were set to arrive even quicker than before, if not for an issue on their shipping partner's fault. They were quick again to assist as an intermediary with the shipping partner to make sure the packages had the right shipping information. Definitely no fault on Yoolax here as we had received the original shipment without any problems and one part of the second shipment before the shipping partner even claimed wrong shipping information. Even with that delay, we still received our shades very quickly thanks to Yoolax's help.   • Great blinds but terrible instructions and programming the channels are a pain

I love these blinds. They are fully black out blinds just like how I wanted it. Very easy to install the battery and the blinds themselves. Battery charging takes about 2.5 hrs. I'm not sure how long they will last just yet. One thing to note when you install is to leave enough room to remove the battery later for charging. I chose the inside window option, and I left 3 inches length from the edge of the window frame to the point of screwing the brackets, and it leaves just enough room to remove the battery. All the blinds I bought can be programmed into 1 remote. Now, the worse part of these blinds, they are a nightmare to program because the instruction booklet is crap. Don't even bother with customer service on this one, just YouTube Yoolax blackout blinds and there is a 2 minute video on there that can help with how to add a blind/Chanel to the remote. For some stuff, I did use the instruction book they provided but to be completely honest, programming the blinds took forever! Other than that, these blinds work great. ... show more

  • Good product. But poor quality control

All in all I'm happy with the Yoolmax blinds. It is obvious they are not ready for distribution in the USA. They came with 2 sheets of, (I guess instructions)... In Chinese.! Who ever packed my blind cut their finger because there was evidence of dried BLOOD on 1 of the blinds. I contacted the Amazons' "contact the seller". I must say once I got to the support group for Yoolax, they were very communicative, helpful and prompt. However, they were limited in their technical expertise. The only reason that I didn't push to return them was due to Michael from tech support stating he would assure we would get them running together. And he fulfilled his commitment. Finally, I might purchase more for my bedrooms, because I really like these blinds. They are fairly good quality. But most of all, I like them going up and down on my set schedule. BUT, I would not recommend them to anyone who is not technically savvy, or willing to spend the time "deciphering" the instructions. Ordered: Dec 13, 2020 Received: Jan 4, 2021 Jan 6 2021 Messaged "contact the seller" about dried BLOOD on battery AND No directions. The response was to credit $30 to Amazon account. Jan 10 2021 Message about bad remote. The response was another copy of the .pdf Jan 14 2021 The shades are not working. I have 2 remotes with 2 blinds. One of the remotes has the mode & time set buttons inoperative, No click when depressed. (See previous complaint). I deleted a channel in an attempt to sync the "BAD REMOTE". Now NEITHER blind works. Please do not send me ANOTHER instruction manual. Either PLEASE contact me directly, send me a replacement remote, or refund me the $686.88, that I paid for the blinds Jan 15 2021 Thank you for the YouTube videos. Unfortunately I've already utilized videos along with the directions you sent. I spent most of day of troubleshooting. Here are some details I discovered. 1 There has NEVER been any beeps, (sound) when programming. 2.One of the remotes has NO DISPLAY.(This remote has the "M" and "P" buttons nonresponsive). It does display the channel when toggling <>. 3.I deleted a channel. Thats when I lost ALL control of the shades 4. I performed the reset procedure. The motor cycles 3x. But no reaction when pressing P2 on either remote. I would like to get these blinds working ASAP. Is it possible to get the remotes expedited? Jan 20 2021. I received 2 new remotes. After re-reviewing the you tube videos, while referring with the instructions. I had the blinds working in 2 hrs. In conclusion, if you shop around for battery operating blinds, you should discover these are a good value... but .. ... show more
