I like the look of this bowl and stand but didn't realize it was so big when I ordered it. It holds 5 cups. I have a medium size dog and she was afraid of it and wouldn't drink from it. I have since bought a different elevated bowl which holds 3 cups and it is the perfect size and height for her. She likes it and used it immediately. We have gone through a lot of different food - water dishes for our cats and the search is over. Will keep this short and simple. -Easy to clean base and bowel dish. -Nice height for my two medium size cats. (Helps digestion and such.) -Best Feature is they are SEPERATE. If you are using a dish with one plastic base holding the bowls side by side, get ones that are separate! No more cloudy water or food getting into the water dish due to a sloppy cat or a cat who likes to play with his food. -Does not slide around or mark my hard wood floor. -Has yet to be knocked-spilled and the food-water stays in the dish. -Reasonable pricing for this type of product. Nothing I do not like yet to report. (After getting my first set, I ordered another for my downstairs.) As always, I will update this review should they develop issues with ongoing use. I love this water bowl. I have stray cats which I have taken two in and they are part of the family now. Because they got used to the elevated dog water bowl, I bought them their own elevated water bowl. This is the one that I found to be just perfect for them. So much so that I bought another one. I have one inside for them and outside for them. They are still indoor/outdoor cats and have a heated condo outside on the deck and they come in every night and sometimes one will stay inside during the day as well.     • Excellent Stand Though a Bit High; Flimsy Loud Bowls

I have two older cats and wanted to get them more accessible dining. This was my first try at a designed raised dish; previously I had just been resting the bowls on upturned dishes, but I wanted something higher. 5" is probably too high. The black cat has learned to sit at hers to get her head higher, and readily polishes off her food, but would probably find it easier if it were an inch lower. The tux just jammed her throat on the edge. That is, when she was willing to get near it. The loud clang of the very lightweight bowls frightened her so much she started running away from the stand, so I've gotten her a different model with a nice silent silicone base. Speaking of the bowls, I don't use them, nor the other brand extra pair I bought. Besides the loudness and flimsy lightness of them, the way they sit down inside the frame makes the cat have to crane down to get at the food. I rest their old rubber-bottomed shallow metal dishes on top instead. The frame itself is very well made, very attractive, and very sturdy. Though my husband's kicked it a few times when the shiny metal bowl wasn't inserted as the black frame visually blends into the brown runner rug we have it on. ... show more

I initially saw this raised dog bowl and thought it was cute. I put it on my wishlist, and would look at it every few months just to be sure I was still in love with the design. I like how these bowls are simply designed but functional. The stand is sturdy and the bowl and stand are easy to clean (just wash with soap & hot water). I did buy little placemats to go under the stand because I have one dog that's really messy when she eats (LOL) but it's not really necessary. ... show more

I have previously spent much money trying to find the right elevated dog bowl for my 4 dogs. They are all seniors now and have some difficulty with their spine and hips/back legs, so that when they eat from floor level they are in discomfort and have problems maintaining the right eating position. FINALLY, I discovered this product and the medium size is perfect for my dogs which are pugs and pug/jack russell mix. This dish is perfect for a dog the size of a pug, jack russell, beagle or larger. The elevated height of approx. 7" is perfect for most medium sized dogs. Fantastic bowls for small pet, cat or dog. I have 3 (fat pugs) n’ 2 kitties 😊 I purchased 2 sets about 3 months ago? Originally for my cats drinking water, my son used them one time to feed the puggies and they turned out to be the perfect size/shape/depth of bowls for puggies food, and the perfect height for them to eat with more ease n’ comfort. I WAS READY to purchase 3 additional sets. The price for each individual set was $12.75, at that time. As of today, 01 Aug 2020, the list price is $23.75? That is practically DOUBLE the original price I paid. I understand costs go out, businesses need to make money, a little hike in price is no problem. I will gladly pay it for a great product. Almost a 100% increase.... no thanks. I am a loyal repeat customer to businesses that have good quality products n’ conduct their business in good faith.
