The material is the same you'd expect to find holding an action figure or barbie toy in its original packaging. Very flimsy. The height is also very low, so don't expect to hold onto seedlings in this long. Assembly is easy but I dislike that the Dome snaps together with the germination tray. The best part of this cheap kit is the lights. I used a calibrated Light Meter to test the LUX through the spectrum at Soil Level and Brightest Level. Darkest corner Produced 360 LUX. Throughout the rest up to the center, I measured an average 3700 LUX, with a maximum register brightness of 6900. So all in all, its an Okay đź‘Ť Kit. Could use a riser for taller plants.

Works for week old seedlings,the only thing I didn’t like is the bottom tray had damage in corner so doesn’t catch 100% of water!!

I put this on top of my stereo, for the added heat from there. I have not used the planting cell tray yet I’ve been using this for seedl g germination inside pallets and clone propagation with peat pellets. The mini greenhouses has a couple vent on top to let out heat. LED light tubes are bright and sturdy or easily removed from the dome lid. The tubes will be warm, but not hot. Typically I’ll takeoff the light tubes and put the whole greenhouse on the windowsill and then back to the stereo in the sun is gone. I am on my third round of clones and this greenhouse is an invaluable asset for my gardening, wish I had one earlier

This seed germinator with 40 spaces for planting seed along with the grow light pays for itself the first use. For example a 4 pack of tomato plants or any other vegetable or flower is now selling retail for $3.99, almost $1.00 per plant. Just only a couple of years ago one could buy a 6 pack for $ 1.50. This item has a timer for the length of time you want the grow light to be activated, a tray underneath the planting tray to catch any water that drains through the soil in the tray. Just put soil in the tray, plant the seed, set the light and watch the seeds grow into healthy seedlings. And no I do not work for the seller of the device :-)

This has been a super simple set up to germinate seeds. I have had high germination rates and it works as expected.

Light doesn’t seem adequate. My seeds didn’t sprout that well but I admit it could have been my fault since this was my first attempt at rock wool seed starting. However, when I put a stronger light above the seeds they really took off and started rooting and sprouting faster
