It would look fine in a room under a coffee table or such. It’s very short piled, but soft enough. The non slip backing seems like it would keep it from sliding about. I really got this for throwing down next to the Jeep under the awning at the end of the day overland camping in the summer time. Something somewhat inexpensive that looks a little nicer to rest my feet and the dog can stretch out on than a traditional plastic straw outdoor rug; that can be washed and dried on occasion. I was cost driven when choosing a replacement rug in a pet friendly home environment. When I came across this rug I was excited about the price, color choices, and sizes offered. I purchased a 5x7 with colors that complimented my space, which fit perfectly. As everyone else has commented, it comes folded and vacuum sealed so there are creases and wrinkles that need to be managed. Since it’s machine washable, I popped the rug in my dryer with a wet cloth and most of the major creases came out. To help it further I ironed it on the steam setting, which worked magic. This rug is feels good under foot, has great color, light-weight, and budget friendly. If you can be patient with the creases and wrinkles you won’t be disappointed. ... show more

I bought this to put in my living room. I needed a rug to give my cat something to help her not slip when trying to get on my couch. It is thin and it still slides but it is soft and looks nice. I wish the wrinkles would come out better.

Ok it was cheap. And I wasn't expecting too much. But this is barely a rug. I think calling it a mat would be more accurate. It is very thin, and the backing is fabric with little grippy dots that don't do much to stop it sliding around on a bare floor. It looks nice from a distance, but it is maybe a quarter inch thick. And it comes folded up and there are a lot of creases. I thew it in the washing machine on a delicate cycle and in the dryer and it did relax some of the creases. I'm keeping it because my old dog needs a path on the tile floor where he doesn't slip. But it would be a little embarrassing if I were to put this as a decorative rug for humans. If you need something colorful to cover under your desk where it won't get much traffic its probably ok, but I'm not expecting it to last very long. Lovely rug…I didn’t expect it to be so nice looking. The only thing that bothered me was upon unwrapping it had a chemical smell. That did go away in a couple of days. I recommend the rug and would buy it again.
