I got this carrier for my small puppy because we needed one for a flight. The carrier fit into the plane and went through TSA fine. My dog is around 10 pounds so he fit the weight limit of this carrier. This carrier is pretty small and I don't think big animals would do well in it. The carrier is also pretty sturdy because it doesn't feel flimsy and feels nice on my shoulder when I'm transporting my dog. ... show more

    • For very small animals
I ordered the YITAHOME Cat Carrier Airline Approved, Soft-Sided Pet Carrier for Cats and Dogs Up to 16lbs, 5 Sides Breathable Collapsible Cat Travel Carrier with Bottom Protection and Washable Liner,17x11x11 Black. I specifically ordered this to have for animal rescue as well as a spare for my own. That was a little bit smaller. It comes flattened which is great for storage. You just place the hard bottom inside and zip it up. There is a leash inside, and a strap that you can use for making it into a shoulder bag. It seems to be well made, but I'm not going to be using it to really be able to tell how the quality is besides just looking at it. The sides need to be zipped up in order for it to stay intact. I would only unzip the top to take my animals in and out because of that, however, it's nice to have another option depending on where you are going to be unzipping it, especially with really scared animals. It's better to have a few options. Now, I tested out my 12 lb cat in here, and this is too small. Once I have him inside and he's sitting up, his head protrudes far out the top so he would not be able to walk around in here without pushing up pretty high on the mesh on top. My 10 lb mini Dachshund mix would be fine because she's short, however, because she is long I would only have her in here for a quick in and out situation like the vet. This seems like it would be better for an extra small dog or small cat. Obviously, a carrier like this is something you need to monitor your animal and since they could chew right out of it. But these are easier to carry for quick trips because they are not heavy plastic. Overall, this is a nice option to have, but I would only get this if your animal is extra small, thank you. ... show more
