I installed 2 of two 12,000 BTU units was very easy. They are quiet and work well. Recently we had -10 F temps and they did struggle and the air coming out of the units was 104 F but kept the house reasonably warm.

After installing 3 Mr. Cool units for our home and cabin, for our garage I decided to go with a less expensive unit (and Mr. Cool prices are now steep). I waited for this one to go on sale and ordered it. I ordered this vacuum pump as it came with the proper adapter for the refrigerant: "VTG VOGTEN 4.5 CFM AC Vacuum Pump and Gauge Set,for Mini Split,HVAC,Auto Systems,Manifold Gauge Kit Compatible with R22, R32, R134a,R410a,Includes 3 Hoses,R134a Can Tap, Upgraded Trifold Storage Case" This unit does not come with a through wall protection tube so you will need to order one of those. The install was easy, again I have installed other DIY Mini Splits. Since I had never performed the vacuum process on the Mr Cool DIY units, I watched a few videos on YouTube that made it easy. I ran the vacuum for 50 minutes, opened the valves, powered the unit up and it produced cool air in less than a minute. The unit is quiet. The WIFI app is nice except it does not convert from C to F even though the remote does have a toggle button. Even if you use the remote to set the temp display to F, when you use the app it switches back to C. I can live with that!

The media could not be loaded. Didn’t last 3 months. Bought the 12k and 24k units and the 24k keeps freezing over and the 12k metros going into defrost mode these units haven’t even been installed for 3 months. Missing parts from the start and wrong electrical whip was sent with the 24k unit they sent a 14awg! Contacted seller they wanted us to have a hcac tech look at unit and hvac tech could not service units due to lack of info on specs for them to perform their job called company while tech was here we waited for a yita home tech to return it call for over an hour with no avail. Received an email from them after tech left they offered a refund via PayPal or a replacement were requested a replacement they emailed back and are only going to give a refund via pay pal no replacement over a week dealing with their customer service and we still have no solution. Horrible customer service and product!

I installed this unit myself a few days ago, and it’s been running flawlessly ever since. Cooling performance is excellent—even in 100°F Louisiana heat. Haven’t tested the heat mode yet (not exactly cold out), but based on the build quality and cooling output, I expect it’ll perform just as well. Install was smooth and straightforward. Everything included worked exactly as it should—mounting hardware, line set, remote, all solid. For DIYers: you’ll need to supply your own disconnect breaker, indoor/outdoor breakers, and feed wire. That’s standard for most installs, but worth knowing upfront so you can order everything together. Both the indoor and outdoor units look clean and professional. The system runs quiet, cools fast, and is priced right for what you get. Bottom line: Whether you're a contractor like me or a confident DIYer, this unit delivers. No gimmicks—just reliable performance and a clean install.

I bought this for my 2 car garage. I'm married, so I spend a LOT of time out there, but it gets really hot / cold. This unit was very easy to install by myself and cools the garage off in no time. I wanted to use it for a while before leaving a review, and it's really impressed me for months now. I love the app, if I know I'm going to be working in the garage after work, I'll turn the unit on using my phone just before I leave the office. The remote works great also, and is backlit for use in dark rooms. My favorite thing is how quiet this unit is. It's virtually silent! The outside unit is essentially silent all the time and the only time I really notice the inside unit is if I set the fan to Turbo. As the product description clearly shows, there is one side guard and a valve side cover that are not included with this unit. I was planning to make a side guard from an old wire refrigerator shelf, but it really doesn't need it once installed, so I left it. The valve side cover isn't really needed either, but I covered the area with some insulation. I may 3D print or make a cover from aluminum sheet later. For the price, this is a LOT of comfort. It makes an unbearable garage into a comfortable place to hang out. Buy it. If my central HVAC ever goes out, I'm installing several of these so each room will be the exact temperature I want and it will save many thousands over buying a single replacement unit.

Works better than I expected. The AC is cold and the heat pump is surprisingly good. I use this unit at work and the app turns it on before I get there and off when I leave.

its been working great in blue ridge MTNS. BUT now that were having a SNOW storm and its 20 degrees w/a real feel of 11... its STRUGGLING to maintain 67 inside! WITH AUX heating..so the electric bill is gonna be SUPER HIGH!!! i may have to turn on the house furnace for AUX heating!
