These mini-blinds are like the older blinds with cords. I read the reviews for cordless mini-blinds but didn’t like the fact that you couldn’t adjust the length and some reviewers said it was difficult to raise or lower the cordless blinds. These old school blinds are easily adjustable for length, plus if you keep the slats you don’t currently need you could replace any slats that might get bent (in the future) with the ones you’ve saved. I didn’t use the mounting brackets that came with the blinds because I already had the cube-shaped brackets at the window from the old 1” blinds. I was also skeptical about the mounting brackets because of their configuration and because other reviewers said they couldn’t make them work. I also bought the cube-shaped brackets here on Amazon for an installation at another window. Overall it was easy to install and it operates as it should. The price was not that bad. I bought two different sizes, one came sooner than expected (by about three days), the other came later than expected (by about three days). Each originating from different parts of the country using different carriers. They seem to be well made.

I love these window blinds. They were fairly easy to install, open and close easily, glide up and down with the pull cords, and when closed provide good sound blocking and almost total light blockage. They are good quality and a great value for the price.

Due to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) these people I didn't elect think they can decide for me whether to have corded blinds or not in my home. I'm 72 and have no children around. They have attempted to limit freedom of choice. No brick and mortar visited sells cordless thank God these blinds are still obtainable thru Amazon. They work well and are beautiful. When Govt tells you a reason WHY there's usually another REAL WHY undisclosed.

First thing to do is to throw away the instructions(worthless), and do it the old fashion way, sit down and study the issue, then hang the thing. Other than that these blinds are excellent, seem to be well made, easy to raise and lower, and look great. I'm as happy as a tick in a tar bucket with this purchase.

1. Operating rod for tilt mechanism is waaay to short. My window is 60" (5') tall and is over a workbench. I had to extend the rod with a 14" piece of rod cut from my old blind rod. I connected the rod and extension together with a piece of pliable plastic tubing. 2. Raising and lowering cords are on the right-hand side of the blind. This results in needing to have adequate clearance to the right of the window. If the right side of your window is in a room corner, close to a wall it's likely you won't have space to pull the cords far enough to lock the blind up. In my case I have a 12" deep wall cabinet immediately to the right of my window making operating the cords difficult but possible with patience. 3. Bonus reason: My blind arrived with a dent in the head channel. Fortunately, it was on the backside of the channel and overall, the channel was straight. All of the packaging was pristine, so the only explanation is the channel was bent at the manufacturing or initial shipping facility. I do not recommend buying blinds from the outfit.

I needed a metal blind in my West-facing room because my vinyl blinds keep melting in the sun. I'm not picky. I wanted aluminum blinds at a reasonable price for my income. I think these meet that requirement. I ordered the first and discovered that I'd measured wrong. I should've known better. I have 12 blinds in this house, and I've had to replace 6 of them three times. Anyway, I exchanged them for the right size. They arrived with the bottom rail bent. The product box and shipping box were both in excellent condition. I sent them back for a replacement, and my newest fits and looks great. Except, the locking mechanism to hold them in place when raised does not work. If I actually ever raised the blinds in that room, I'd be sending them back for yet another replacement. But, they can hang there and do their job: block the light :) These were easy for me to put up because they fit right into my old blinds' holder. I haven't had to put up new hardware in years because I've just replaced the same size blinds over and over. But, the first time I put up hardware for hanging blinds in 1999 was easy; measuring tape and screwdriver.
