I'm very surprised at how easy this mouthpiece is to play. The seal test gives a nice pop, so the table and rails must be pretty even. The tip is a little wide-ish with my Vandoren and Riggotti Gold reeds seated on there, but it's not too wide. The plating looks very good to me. Blowing into the sax and producing notes is quite easy with this. It looks like it might be modeled after a Berg? Other mouthpieces I own are an Otto Link rubber Vintage Tenor (dark tone/large chamber) and a Vandoren V16 Medium chamber metal mouthpiece (medium tone/medium chamber). This mouthpiece is definitely the brightest of the three. I'm not used to playing a bright mouthpiece, I like the sound of my medium best of all. For the price if you want to try and get that brighter sound this mouthpiece is surprisingly good! ... show more

This metal mouthpiece is nicely polished and is packed with a decent, Rovner-style ligature and a soft plastic reed cap. Here are my thoughts in a nutshell: The mouthpiece is very good for the price, the ligature is surprisingly good, and the reed cap doesn't fit. The overall packaging is lackluster: the mouthpiece is stuffed in a plastic bag, then into the carton along with the ligature, cap, and a couple of pieces of foam rubber. No literature sheet is included, and no information (to speak of) is printed on the carton -- not even a brand name. The number "6" is stamped onto the mouthpiece (the tip size), but no other information is present. This is a fairly anonymous product that is not likely suitable for gift giving. It plays better than I thought it would (low expectations!). There's very little resistance, unusually good projection, and while I normally play a #4 tip, this #6 was quite easy for me to play. The product page on Amazon may have the reason why. If you look down the page, it has an illustration with the product specs: tip size is 0.66" / 17mm. That's pretty closed for a #6, but about right for me. (I should note: tip sizes are not standardized across manufacturers, so it's helpful to dig up the actual measurements. For comparison, the Yamaha 4C alto mouthpiece that so many students begin learning with is about 0.67".) Overall, as a player, this mouthpiece does really well with the upper register on the horn. I could play the high notes more easily; even the alt front F# key was easy. The bottom register was less remarkable. It was a little warbly, but it also responded to changes in embouchure. For the price, it's hard to go wrong with this. It'll last you forever. It's a decent player with nice projection and low resistance. The sound is OK. Kind of neutral. The ligature is useful but the cap is a joke. There's no excuse for shipping a part that is such an obvious poor fit. I may be able to salvage it with a pocket knife, but I doubt I'll bother. I have others to use instead, and the trash can beckons. ... show more

    • Too long
I bough this yibuy #7tenorsax mouthpeice the problem i have with this is that it is too long ,and so it do not not tune properly on my sax you have to pull it almost to the end of the neck for it to tune making it barely holding on to the neck and so i can not use it

This mouthpiece is great for the price. I love the sound it produces, able to get good intonation and produce a few of the high notes with ease.
