Description

This reed is designed to produce a quality of extremely pure sound due to a very thin reed tip (the area of Reed with maximum vibration), being balanced by a solid vertebral column (more cane in the area which climbs gradually to the heel). These reeds are recognizable by a straight line to delineate the limit of the area of bark. The favorite reed of classic saxophonists worldwide since marcel Mule, it has always been (and is still) used with equal success by many players.

I first started out on clarinet and played for 7 years using this brand. Now as a new saxophone player, I will continue to use this brand. Wooden reeds are a pain because they break, chip, and are inconsistent, but I've stuck with this brand because it is one of the cheapest and I can rely on at least half to 3/4 of the box to be good reeds. Longevity definitely depends on how well you take care of the reeds and how they play in the first place. I admit, there is usually a reed in each pack I can tell will underperform even after breaking it in, but I just use those during marching band when you're sound isn't as good anyways ... show more
