Vandoren reeds are my go-to reeds. I spent a lot of money on a single synthetic reed because someone suggested it, and I was intrigued by the idea of not having to constantly replace my reeds, as well as the idea of not needing to wet them prior to use. I tried it once and immediately went back to my Vandorens. The sound quality just can't be beat. Also, I've found that Vandoren reeds have gotten much better at being consistent in quality, and I appreciate when they went to the vacuum sealed packaging. I play saxophone in an adult wind ensemble, we're pretty serious folk. I use a Ron Caravan mouthpiece on soprano, occasionally a Vandoren Profile if more volume is needed. These work so well with both.

I normally use Java red box reeds, but wanted to try the Traditionals. Like the Java, these reeds are very consistent in strength and position of the "heart".

It’s hard to find soprano reeds locally, so I turned to Amazon to find them and at a good price. I am still working out what works best for me in strength while learning the soprano but I like Vandoren on my alto and tenor. So I will give these a go.

I'm a professional musician and have been playing over 45 years... the Vandoren name is a very trusted name. These reeds work perfectly for my soprano sax!
