    • Broke first time in microwave after less than 1 minute on standard power.
Beautiful plates, but who wants dishes than cannot hold up in a microwave. I've only used one a couple of times, without heat. But decided to heat up a cheese sandwich. Says microwave safe, but don't believe it. Popped into 2 pieces after about 30 seconds. Returning.

These plates are wonderful! They are beautiful enough to be used just for decoration! The plates feel heavy and you can tell that they are great quality. The pattern is actually raised enough that you can feel it, but it's smooth in the middle so it doesn't interfere with using a fork and knife. I love the shade of blue, and the almost iridescent shine. The price is good, so I ordered a set of the 8" as well. Very happy with these! ... show more

Well made plates, I love the proportions and finishing. I got the black green color. Nice solid plates, they have a good weight to them, beautiful color with a glossy finish and a nice honeycomb like texture. All in all, beautiful dinner set.

These are thick, substantial plates with a nice three-dimensional pattern (i.e., the "scale" pattern you see is not just drawn on, it's textured, more pronounced at the outside of the plate and gradually becoming smoother towards the center). They are definitely attractive enough to be decorative. They feel handmade and are deliberately slightly irregular -- each one is unique, with the colors blending into each other a little differently on each plate. I got the blue ones, and the color pops very nicely, with an almost iridescent sheen. Packaging was excellent (tight styrofoam separators and tight styrofoam box inside cardboard box inside shipping box), and all plates arrived intact. My only concern (and it's a slight one) is that the underside of each plate has a ring of unglazed ceramic on which the plate rests (see the pictures on Amazon of the inverted bowls). The contrast looks great, but over time this ring might be more susceptible to staining or chipping than the glazed and colored parts. No way to tell yet but it crossed my mind. ... show more
