The are light weight and easy to clean. They will scratch from cutting or scraping but I expected that. I like the bowl edges on the plate which keeps food from sliding off the edge. They are definitely fine china but I find they useful and good looking for everyday use. I am happy with my purchase.

We bought these and the bowls when a family member developed sensory sensitivities and the clatter of dish ware was intolerable. We have been using them for 5 months. These plates (and bowls) have been great. They are durable, light, and QUIET. The colors are pleasant and restful. The shape is very useful for keeping the food on the plate, whether it is a sauce, chips, or what have you. We have not put them in the microwave for more than 30 sec, just to be safe. Mostly we hand wash but when used with oily foods the dishwasher does a better job. The only disappointment is that they scratch if you use knives to cut food, even though we only use non-metallic knives (made of quieter materials).
