These dishes are light, though sturdy. They do not heat up when used in the microwave (though the food does). I've used mine as the "lid" when microwaving in another dish as well as using them as a dish for any meal. The golden yellow is my favorite color, and it goes well in both my kitchen and dining room. I really like these plates! They are microwave and dishwasher safe. The colors are true to the pictures. We use them at lunch and dinner almost every day and they have held up really well. I think I’ve had them about 6 months and most still look brand new. They are true to size of the description. I have 3 kids ranging from 4-14 and even when they use them, I don’t worry and the plates breaking. They are a good thickness that lets me know they will hold up well for a long time. I have recently been thinking of getting a second set to make sure I have enough when company comes over. I don’t use paper products very often. My only complaint on these plates are the lip when putting them in our dishwasher, they don’t stand up because the dishwasher prongs are meant for smaller lips i think. I just love these colorful plates! I have been looking for reusable , and unbreakable plates that will go in the microwave and these are just perfect! I really like that the edge around them is about 1 1/2 inch high to hold in the food like salads, spagetti, beans, etc. Just the perfect size for a small meal or especially for my grandkids!
