It took me a while to figure out the right set up, as the printed instructions aren't super clear, so i do appreciate the videos the seller has provided showing how to install and use. I had to apply some tension as I wound the yarn and was surprised at how small of a yarn cake it made. I should have paid better attention, as it does state it is a 4oz capacity, and will not hold an entire skein, but that is 100% on me. It will be very useful in keeping all my yarn scraps organized and ready for a project. Overall, I'm happy with this product. It feels sturdy, and makes the process of rolling up yarn so much quicker which is enough to outweigh any cons that I have found. If you haven't used one of these yarn winders before it may take a little to figure out the set up, but its easy once you do.

I've never had a yarn winder before, but I recently inherited boxes of yarn, much of it tangled up or loose in bags, and I needed a solution for better storing it. So I thought I'd try this. It took less than 5 minutes to open, clamp to the table, and start winding. I love it! I will try to post some photos and videos. Tips: make sure the screws are firmly tightened, esp. the one holding the clamp to the winder, and then also the winder to the table. Try to use a table with deep enough lip that the winder can be clamped really securely - if it flops around your yarn ball will not be even. I initially didn't clamp it tight enough and the first ball was a mess. I also saw a tip to slip a small cardboard tube from toilet paper or paper towel roll over the winder, to keep the yarn firmer when you take it off the winder: this does work, but you might want to put a rubber band over the tube. Otherwise the roll slips and again, your yarn ball will not form neatly. Otherwise, it's been great and I am thrilled to have a fast way to wind up my loose yarn. Now if it could only help detangle it also....
