I watch a person on YouTube that got one of these yarn winders. I thought that looks so much easier than winding up hanks by hand! I was so excited when I got it, I attached it to my cats scratch post, lmao! I started with a couple hanks and then tried it on a couple skeins. This thing is amazing, it makes beautiful cakes! This is so easy to use and it makes all my yarn so uniform! But it doesn’t come with instructions. Thankfully there’s a diagram on the sale page on Amazon so I wasn’t out too much time, but still I had hoped for more clear instructions in the box.

The seller was great got the item days before it said it would arrive. It was easy to put together, watched YouTube to figure out how to use it. It's a little hard, you have really get it on your table (there is a bump next to a screw, be careful it will damage your table). Nice and easy and it will work great, no stress and it will not turn.     • What a disaster
It came with absolutely nothing but a little bubble wrap, the tension bar, the round piece that holds the cake as it's being wound, and the main piece. No warranty, no instructions for how to assemble it or take it apart, absolutely no information from the company that manufactures it - not even name and addreass. The add says "good after sales services" but so far as I can see there is no way to get a hold of them. The first and only time I attempted to use it was a very distressing experience. The only way it would wind a ball was if someone unwound the skein before winding the ball. The crank was very hard to use, hesitating every rotation of the crank requiring extra effort on the crank to get it to move. The ball that was wound was very bad. There were wraps around the bottom and the top of the cake making the cake unusable. I'm going to try to return it and get my money back by going through Amazon, but in the meanwhile I'm stuck without a ball winder. Very big bummer! ... show more

I absolutely LOVE this yarn winder! Number 1 suggestion: get a bigger washer for the part that sits on the table. I also put cardboard underneath, better safe than sorry. Makes perfect 10 oz cakes

This product arrived without ANY instructions for assembly. Because it is intended for use with a swift, diagrams on how to address the attachments ( ) in a way which will facilitate the feeding of yarn from the swift would be very helpful.
