I've had this for about a month now, it replaced plug in door that worked on a timer. My coup is about 30 ft from the house and I had an extension cord running to it which wasn't very convenient. After a month the solar hasn't let me down yet. The frame of the door is also some sort of metal, aluminum maybe, but it's a lot stronger than thr plastic one on my old door. ... show more
