The design concept for the tower shoe stand is fantastic, but it has one glaring flaw. The shoe stand is not wide enough for men's shoes to be placed in the shoe rack toe first, which is the natural way to place shoes when you pick them up by the heels. I measured a few pairs of shoes ranging across US Mens sizes from 10.5-12 which included sandals, tennis shoes, and walking shoes. When a pair of shoes was pushed tightly together, similar to how they would be placed on the stand, the measurement at the widest point near the ball of the foot ranged from 9.25 inches up to 9.75 inches. However, the space between the vertical support bars of the shoe stand is only 8.375 inches. As soon as you get past the ball of the foot, the shoes narrow back down near the arch and heel, which is why the shoes can be placed on the rack heel first, but this requires grabbing shoes by the toe, which is awkward and much more likely to be a dirty part of the shoe. The overall design concept is great, so the width issue is really unfortunate. The shoe stand is lightweight and has a handle at the top, so its very easy to pick up and move around for cleaning or convenience. It is narrow enough to fit on a single stair step when rotated in either direction. It would still be able to fit on my stairs in either direction if the width was increased by the 1.25 inches that would allow all my shoes to be inserted easily. Additionally, while I read reviews where some people received shoe racks that did not have enough screws, my box contained a bag of screws that had both the 4 screws needed to assemble the shoe stand, plus a bag of "spare parts" containing one extra screw, so I had no problems there.

This item is exactly what I was looking for and was excited to assemble it. There are four simple screws and I wanted to put it together without even asking my husband for help. When I opened the bag with the screws I had one screw but needed four to complete the assembly. My husband can go to the hardware store and buy more screws but for the cost of the item it sure seems like I should receive all four screws! I was disappointed.

We love items that make everyday life more organized! So- the idea of this shoe organizer seemed perfect. The problem is it’s too small in width for our shoes. I wear a woman’s size 9 and my husband and sons are around size 12. Let’s just say it’s not designed with these size of feet in mind. I have to lay the shoes in at an angle to make it work. If they had an option that was a few inches wider, it would actually be the perfect compact, by the front door, shoe organizer. It just doesn’t look quite as tidy as I’d like it to with the shoes sitting in it neatly. So- all that said- I’m still keeping it because it’s still the best thing I’ve found to do the job.

Its good for what it is, but a little overpriced so I reduced 1 star. I reduced another star because it came with only 1 screw in a little zip lock bag. You'd think after spending a high price for this, youd get all the parts, but no. It came with 1 screw when you need 4 to lock the two parts together. The people packaging this must be on drugs, because according to other reviewers, im not the only one experiencing this problem.

This is a perfect shoe rack for our small entryway. It just fits size 11 mens and 10 women shoes if they are put in heel first. It honestly looks better this way over toe first, we just take them out and put them back by grabbing hold of the laces. This is the third Yamazaki piece we have in our entryway (coat rack and table are the other two) and they look great together. Super impressed with this company!

Im taking one star off because I think it’s a little pricy for what it really is. However, it’s very hard to find vertical shoe racks like this. I’m otherwise very happy with it because it fits perfectly in my closet, it was extremely easy to build and it’s very sturdy. I wish it was taller to fit more shoes but this will do.

I tried to find an alternative to this shoe rack because it is too expensive for what it is, but there wasn't much available. Also, this works well for women's shoes but men's shoes (size 9) do not fit or is a tight squeeze. It is kind of unfortunate since I wanted really wanted my husband's shoes off the floor, but since it take a little bit more effort to squeeze his shoes on there, the shoes end up staying on the floor. Otherwise I like the look, clean and simple, and it is also easy to put together.
